I think it should be censored for people 12 and under because kids shouldn't be seeing content that is inappropriate for their age. For example, if a kid is watching something, an inappropriate video might pop up.

I think that social media shouldn't be censored because if you find something you don't like or see something you wish you didn't you were probably looking for it and you learned a lesson not to do that. And if someone sends something to you and you don't like it then you should learn not you click on random things. And if a kid finds toxic content and becomes a toxic person they were probably gonna become a toxic person anyway and now its just giving you more time to fix them.

I think social media should NOT be censored because, there is lots of information on the internet that kids and adults should learn about. Like the daily news from the 'New York Times' or podcasts that talk about the news. There are lots of valuable hacks and shortcuts on the internet focusing on daily tasks, I think people find that valuable, and that info can really change their life in a way. However, age limits should be required so that a kid a certain age cannot access social media, because there is info that can harm a child's mind, for example, some bad influences on the internet, trends that can possibly harm the child. But social media itself has it's positives, and that should be recognized.

I think that social media should be censored for children. However, I do think that it should be up to the child and their family/guardians what content should be censored. This is because each child had different maturity levels and handles certain content differently.

I think social media should be blocked to kids under 15 because as a 13 year old male, I can say that I have spent way to much time on some social media platforms. Time that you cant regain has been taken away from you and you just sit there scrolling for hours at a day. I think anyone above the age of 15 though, should have the opportunity to access social media platforms.

I think social media should not be censored because their should be a age limit on the use of certain websites and if you see something that you didn't wanna see, you can just scroll off that video and for young people, the parents should have parental control on what they can access on their devices.

I think that social media should be censored for younger children because they can be exposed to content that isn't appropriate. However, parents and guardians shouldn't play too big of a part in censoring content because it can become an invasion of privacy. The censorship shouldn't be too invasive but strong enough to keep young children from seeing harmful material.

I believe yes, social media should be censored, especially on platforms where you can't control what you see, such as TikTok or YouTube Shorts' scrolling mechanic. Aside from bad influence or inappropriate visuals, some children have conditions or trauma that can be triggered by seeing certain pictures or flashing lights. This can be mostly avoided if social media is censored. Ads should also be censored. Minors are seeing Tampon ads.

I think that Social media should not be censored because the internet is supposed to be an uncensored, decentralized network. If the United States, which is supposed to be a free country, censors Social Media, would other countries follow. This might end up in more and more media being censored. I understand the the need to stop children from viewing dangerous content so the kids won't hurt themselves, but the parents could help with that any responsible person could make a kid understand what to do and not to do. It has been that way for a long time. OR people could hurt themselves and they would understand by looking at others getting hurt trying to replicate some tiktok dance. I would prefer kids getting hurt rather than our freedoms being infringed. If the companies censor some stuff, they could censor whatever they want. It is their fault. We could move on to another platform. We control their profits by using their site and we have to power to change what the companies do with enough support.

I think that social media SHOULD be censored for kids under 13 because there could be a lot of pop ups on You Tube that may be inappropriate. In addition, social media can be bad for our mental and physical health since there's people that post on online platforms like Tik tok or Instagram, you may be influenced by them to do bad trends or dangerous ones. Furthermore, you may want to be them too, lets say physical appearance, you want to be just like them and you think you're not perfect and that could make you insecure of how you look and act. My point here is that social media can affect others mentally and physically. Also, nowadays I see kids that are like 7 years old on social media platforms acting like an adult, I'm not saying that's wrong but it kind of is since they're getting influenced by older people who are destroying their childhood.

I think social media should not be censored because people are responsible for what they click and what they look at. parents should keep watch of their kid making sure they are not doing anything they aren't supposed too. Many responsible teens shouldn't have to suffer and not go on their favorite apps just because some child's mother isn't watching what their doing on social media. when adults buy some type of device for their kid and not watching what they look at that is the parents fault. Not the Child's.

I think that social media should not be censored since the child has full responsibility going on to that website or app. The child is going onto social media knowing full well that social media is a scary place and can do harm. If the parents/guardians have full charge on what their child is watching, they don't really know for sure what is harmful or not to the child themselves. I understand that children can be exposed to dangerous things on the internet, but it's really their fault, or their parent's for not letting them understand that the internet is not a safe place and to teach them that there are things to avoid and not do.

I think that social media should not be censored because although there are a lot of good and bad things in social media, it is the parent's responsibility to protect their children from harm. A parent can set restrictions for their kids when they are young, but when the child has reached a mature age, the restrictions should be turned off and give the child their own privacy, as they know that their child will be responsible when browsing online.

I think that social media should not be censored because children should learn their own lessons about what not to look at and what is beneficial for them to see. With these lessons, children will always know what is harmful to them, and will carry these lessons throughout their whole life. If parents and the media company censors posts that are deemed inappropriate, kids will never learn their lesson and would always be oblivious to the dangers of the internet. Teenagers, children and everything in between should learn to have responsibility for how they view the internet before it is too late.

I think that social media should be censored to an extent. If it is a younger child, I think it's the parents' responsibility to make sure that nothing disturbing is seen. However, if the child is older, they should be able to make their own decisions and know what's disturbing and what's not. Overall, it should be up to the parents and child to decide whether it's best for them.

I think that social media should be censored because there are dangerous sites out there that can trick younger ages, such as stealing address, parent’s credit card information, or hacking into your device. However, social media should only be censored for some circumstances, like for kids they should be limited, but for adults they have a general awareness of what’s dangerous and what’s not dangerous.

I think social media should not be censored because that way, teens learn early on the dangers and risks on social media. It's their responsibility to know what they're watching and that people do make content they do not want to watch. Beside, if it's censored, there are going to be people out there who want to find a way around that just to show that they can and some who may want to harm kids on purpose. Since social media would be censored, kids wouldn't know what to do and the results might be worse.

Social Media should not be censored. Social Media is a place where people with different opinions and viewpoints come to share their own side of a problem. Censoring this can allow one side to freely share their opinion and the other side of an argument is censored and left out. With this said, there may be some sensitive topics that are not suited for suited for kids. Social media should not be censored but should have an age minimum (like 13 or 18).

Social media should be censored because kids should not be exposed to toxic content at such a young age. For example, many children under 13 are active on a toxic platform called "Tik Tok", which allows kids to be influenced by immature adults. On the other hand, some people might say that kids should be able to see the media for themselves and decide if the content is appropriate. However, this argument is misguided because children cannot judge a topic they have not been educated on. Moreover, if an adult or respectable figure has not taught their child how to tell right from wrong, their child will assume everything on social media is right because their parents have allowed them to look at this kind of content. In addition, if kids were allowed to view all of social media and not have it censored from them, it could cause children to follow dangerous content, leading to severe consequences for the children and even their friends. Furthermore, since children are very naïve, once someone in their friend group has fallen under the influence of the dark side of social media it will cause the whole society, if not the generation to follow and, as a whole, become toxic.

I think social media should be censored but not that heavily censored. What I mean by this is that social media should block inappropriate sites, but they should not have parents look at what their kids are doing because I think that it is an invasion of privacy. Social media should have like some sort of strong verification for very sensitive videos or sites and for less sensitive that really won't harm a teen's mental health, there should just be a simple warning of what they are going to see.

In my general opinion it depends as the platform should have restrictions for younger kids so then they won't see any bad videos, as for if you were older you could see anything. I think that social media should be censored or restricted based on age because some content on social media may be inappropriate or full toxicity, meaning the content shouldn't be shown to younger audiences. This is where the age restrictions would come in, not allowing audiences under a certain age to see the content posted. While some may argue that age restrictions and censoring on content may cause issues with childrens privacy. We need to take into consideration on how dangerous social media could be. It could be full of toxic communities that shouldn't be introduced young childrens since it could introduce childrens to toxic and disturbing words and ideas.

I think that social media should be censored because censorship restricts kids from seeing things that they aren't ready to see. Without proper censorship, kids would be exposed to tons of content that would be traumatizing for a kid to see. Some of the things that are posted on social media can be harmful to a child's developing mind and can influence them in a negative way. It is important for kids to mature at their own pace and social media does not allow kids to do so.

In my opinion social media should be censored or restricted for people under the ages of 18 because of inappropriate content that you can’t control. Once you watch it once they will keep popping up. As a result adolescents will get influenced and perhaps pass it on to other people, creating a negative future. Instead I think the children’s parent or guardian should decide what will be censored because they know him/her the best.

The fact that some content might be inappropriate can’t be good and doesn’t necessarily take away any freedoms on social media if said content is wildly Inappropriate for the viewer. I think social media should be blocked to kids under 10 because as a 13 year old boy, I can say that I have spent way to much time on some social media platforms. i just sit there scrolling for hours at a time day. I think anyone above the age of 10 though, should have access social media platforms.

No, i don't think social media should be censored because that would also mean parents being able to look at everything you do, and in other words: stalking. Imagine going about your life knowing everything you do can be seen by your parents, and that really breaks your trust.

Social media should be censored but parents or others shouldn't be able to see what you're up to. Like, maybe other people who already watched the content should be able to like vote if its appropriate for kids to watch or not, then it gets censored/not censored based on majority votes. When I watch videos alot of times innocent things such as someone playing a game gets censored so bots/a singular person shouldn't be able to decide if something is inappropriate or not. Thus, the majority vote.

I think social media should be censored to a certain extent for users under 12 years old. There are a lot of harmful pictures and videos that a child could come across by accident or even on purpose out of curiosity, so it's important to monitor what websites and content your child can view, but also not being too overprotective over their privacy.

I think that Social Media should not be censor. I think it is fair that people should not be expose to toxic content. But, people under 16 years wouldn't get the full experience and opportunities to content that might be helpful. Plus, the restriction might be offensive to people under 16 years old.
