i read the question.
the U.S should help the government in Haiti, and get them organized
I think that it is more or less morally unfair. both sides have a different opinion and both sides make a valid point. The conditions that the refugees are living in, in their home country and now in the US, is just terrible. They come to seek refuge, only to face conditions that are maybe even worse. What the US should do is that they should make a deal with other countries, (if they haven't already), so that each country receives a certain amount of refugees. and also, for those allowed to come into the states, to immediately find jobs that ultimately help the US.
I think that the 12,000 Haitian migrants living under a bridge is a dangerous place and I think that the US government should help the Haitian migrant. They are having a difficult time right now living and trying to find food and a shelter for 12,000 people. They are now living in a dreadful place and trying to get out of the unstable country they are in. For example, there isn't any security and the assassination of the president from their country.
Andrew, not sure what you mean by "I read the question." ??????
I wonder what happened to make the situration so bad that they had to migrate and cross the borders of multiple countries
I think the us government should be helping the Haitian Migrants because they are struggling. For example they are struggling to get food.
I think that the US government should try to help the Haitians because they are struggling to get food and survive. In addition, in Haiti, the government is unstable and not safe to live in, due to the assassination to the Haitian president. If the US doesn't want all of the refugees, they could try to make a deal with other countries to help and support the Haitians, or at least take some Haitian Immigrants.
Yes, Haiti recently had their president assassinated and experienced an earthquake followed by torrential rain fall. The country has been hit hard and the people suffer.
I think the government should help the Haitian migrants because their life was very hard in Haitiand, there was not security and the country was in a political crisis. They are trying really hard to get a better life and the government should try to help them.
I think the government should help the Haitian migrants because their life was very hard in Haitiand, they live under a bridge, have only 22 bathroom fro 12000 people, and we they are struggle to get food.
The government should help the Haitian because families are trying to give a better life for their children. The parents sacrifice so much for their kids such as going without food for a days because their kids need it more. The problem is that the guards on the border will not let them in even if they can help fight for the country.
I think what is going is really messed up. The us should at least give them food and a better living situation.
I believe that the U.S Government should request more funding for Haiti for the Earthquake relief and other struggles in the unstable country such as rebuilding places, installing hand washing stations, etc. Since the renovation for Haiti will take long, the U.S. for now should either request funding for large buildings to support the Haitians with resources or move the Haitians to some other safe haven.
i think whats going on isnt good because most imigrants have their reasons on why they want to come they are a trying to escape the harshness of their homeland and they just want a better and new life they should be given food and resources and should be let in to the us.Also the US should give resources and try to help the people in need.
I think the government should at least help the refugees at least a bit like supply them with food so they can at least feed themselves and i think refugees should at least treated as immigrants because they are both similar in situation people who left their home to find a new life whether by choice or by things happening in their country and give them a home until Haiti can allow the Haitians back
I think the government should funds the Haiti or at least funds food since their are starving and going through a hard time in their life, too the point where their asking for the food and giving their children their food should of not happen in the first place.
I think that the conditions the Haitians are living in right now are really bad, there are many families that need food and are willing to give it to their children instead of themselves. The U.S government should try to provide at least some food and shelter to the Haitians, and then make arrangements for the Haitians to be moved to a more stable shelter where they can recover and make a new life for themselves.
I hope the Haitian get all the help they need, I feel like the US government should step up and help them more since they are literally risking their lives to live in a better life, like their homeland has been spiked with 2 Earthquakes and the place is so bad that the people there feel like they need a restart in another country.
I just feel really bad for the migrants. 12,000 people are just living under a bridge, waiting for the US government to make a move. The Department of Homeland Security's massive bureaucracy is not going to make this descision any faster. I think the US government shouldn't just turn people away, it should at least let people have some kind of chance of getting in. Also, sometimes going to border checkpoints just isn't possible for tired, hungry migrants. As for the migrants right now, they should be immediately cared for, and transported to the nearest border checkpoint, where they would go through the same process as any migrant coming into the nation, while also getting a little advantage, considering the massive earthquake that just happened in Haiti.
The conditions that the 12,000 Haitian people living under the bridge is humanly incorrect and unjust. They should be provided care and necessary necessities to keep them alive and well. The U.S government should provide safe environments for the Haitian people because the majority of them had escaped from dire conditions so it is highly possible they could be in need of care. The U.S should take better care of its immigrants because the Haitian people risked their lives and their families lives for a better future. If they don't have the possibility for a life then what did they risk their lives for?
I think the the US Government Should immediately fund the Haitian People because they are still human and keeping them under a bridge is inhumane treating them as if they were slaves all over again and how majority of them are starving which no one should have to go through
I think the government should help out the Migrants because Haiti had a harsh life in their homeland and they came to the US so they can have a better life and support their parent in Haiti
I think the conditions of the 12,000 Haitian migrants that lives under a bridge is really bad because they all need food because their kids can't. The Border Patrol agents yelled at the migrants who were crossing in the waist-deep river to get out of the water. I think that the US government should transport them to a save environments like a homeless shelter and needed nessities. The US government should take care of its foreigner because the Haitians lives are at risk right now.
I think the government should help the Haitians because they're struggling to survive and get food and water.
I believe that the US government should be trying to help the Haitians instead of making life more difficult for them. The Haitians are going through a rough time with an earthquake and political crisis going on in their homeland. The Haitians are struggling to make a living and struggling to keep their families alive, and the government is driving them out, harming them further. It is unfair for the Haitians to have come such a far place to only get rejected. Instead of making life harder for the Haitians, the US government should help and support them.
I think that we should help them and create a refuge camp for them. This way they won’t be hurt.
i think the government should help the haitians, the least the government could do is give them food and water, there are children there also. The adults might not need it as much but the children do.
I think the government should give the Haitians food and water and things that can keep them alive. The US government should also make sure they have a chance of a new life. If they want to live, they should at least have the chance to start fresh.
I think that it was harsh living under a bridge, the government should at least ship food so that no one starves. That I think is the least they can do. Maybe create a shelter too.
I think the government should help the migrants, all they want is a better life, its not very hard to help them, give them the stuff that they need, water, clothing, shelter, and food. I don't see how letting them in can cause a problem, the more people in the US the more money its a win win situation, its plain ignorance for the government to be letting them live in such terrible ways. Especially that they came thinking that America would be better than their homeland yet they come and literally live under a bridge not only is this stupid but it makes America look bad you see, you wont more people to come to America make it more wealthier or something but people seeing how the government treats these people who are in desperate need of help makes the US look terrible, keeping them under that bridge with nothing to satisfy there needs is inhumane.
I think it is always difficult for governments to accept and organize vast immigrations, so we need to look at this with a grain of salt. However, I do think the U.S. government needed to treat the situation differently. The immigrants needed subsidized housing and cheap jobs to get them started. The country's economy isn't growing close to as fast as others like China, so we need to take advantage of a cheap workforce. It would help both us and the immigrants.
It makes me sad hearing the stories of people who come to the US for a chance at a better life. The Haitian migrants shouldn’t have to live under a bridge. It’s not safe for them there and it’s not clean. I also don’t agree with sending the Haitian migrants back because they travelled so far to get here. I think that the Haitian migrants should be placed in temporary shelters with food, water, and sanitation. There, they can start the asylum process.
I think the government should help the migrants and give them some food and water and other resources that they might need.
I believe the US should first get funding because even if they want to do anything to help, they need the money for it or else nothing will really happen. It's clear that the migrants won't be let into the States easily because of the border guards and whatnot, but it would be cruel to just kick all of them out because with the current situation they're in, their president recently being assassinated and having experienced an earthquake followed by torrential rain fall, it would be almost impossible to get all the migrants to go back quietly. Their government is unstable and they probably wouldn't even have a proper place to live if they go back. It's the reason they risked their lives to escape to the States in the first place. Therefore, I think the US should do what they can to offer temporary food and shelter for the migrants (because they are technically the victims in this whole situation) until things get worked out, or they come up with a better plan. And all that circles back to the funding.
I think the US government should help the 12,000 haitian migrants because their struggling to live. For example their struggling to get food and a proper shelter to live in. I think there should also have doctors to help them check up on their health to make sure their life isn't in any danger.
I think the U.S government should help the12,000 Haitian migrants because they are forced by the condition to come to the U.S for better life and survive. Most Haitian migrants have a family with their children, and all they wanted for coming to U.S is just safety and being able to keep their family living.
I think the US should let the Migrants because it might benefit the US. an example is more people to serve the US
The U.S government should help the 12,000 Haitian migrants because they put them in these conditions when their lives are already hard for them. Many of them come to the U.S because their lives are hard where they live and some of them come to the U.S wanting their children to have better life. All they want is a stable life where they are healthy and safe.
I think that the U.S government should help the 12,000 Haitian Migrants because they are having a hard time living. They are not able to have a home if they aren't going to be let into the United States. For example, they should at least offer food to the Haitian Migrants so that they are provided with food and are not starving. Adding on, if the U.S lets them in they will most likely get more money and the immigrants will have a roof over their heads and a bed to sleep on every night.
I'm able to see that the 12,000 Haitian migrants have experience unfairness because they are living under a bridge and there are people there that are starving, these people had also been experiencing bad weather, and their countries is very unstable. The U.S. government can help by starting the asylum process, and first provide these people shelter, food, and clothes, and in some ways the U.S. government should treat the people with proper care.
a basic summary of what I think, is that the government is all over the place and I think the u.s should probably help the man out, the government in Haiti, and get them in check
I believe that the government should help the Haitian, by providing the migrants shelter before the migrants decide to stay or move. This is because the migrants are humans too and the government should be responsible when they are really in need of help.
I think that the US did some things wrong and some this right. Clearly the Haitians need help, and trying to send them back to Haiti is wrong. However, the US giving the migrants food and money and testing them for COVID-19 was good. They should try to open refugee camps where they rapid test all migrants before they can come in. This way COVID won't spread, and if someone tests positive they can't come into the camp. They should prioritize helping families with children. The US should also try to help Haiti and the Haitian government so that they don't have to take care of the refugees long.
I think that it was very hard for the 12,000 Haitians living under the bridge. The U.S government should have at least helped by providing them with food, water, clothing, and inexpensive shelter. It wouldn't do any Harm to the U.S by letting them in, eventually the Haitians would get back up on their feet and would be helping the U.S by giving them money as they paid for things in the future.
I think that the government should let the Haiti stay instead of kicking them out because they were having a really hard time in their country and it would be fair to at least try to help them after all of the trouble they've been through.
i think that what is happening to the haitians is horrible and unfair. they came to america to find a better place and a relief from the political crisis that has happened back in their home. but now the migrants find themselves in a unsafe with all the people and unsanitary having to share 21 bathrooms for the 12,000 of them which is just as worse as their home. i feel the us government has two options at the time. they came either try and help and give money to haiti to help with the earthquake damage and help solve the political dilemma. another solution would be to let the migrants enter the country and have them test for covid. i believe that most of them had a plan for moving to america.
The 12,000 Haitians living under the bridge should receive food, and warmth from the US. Some of the kids might not be able to take care of themselves, and the parents might have to go out to collect resources, so the children would have no one caring for them. At the very best the US can let them into the boarder, and originally all the haitians wanted to do was start a safe and happy life in america, not to cause harm to people.
Both sides are neither in the wrong nor in the right. U.S has it's reasons to why they can't have illegal immigrants coming to the US. However, due to the horrible conditions Haiti, the Haitians have a reason to escape to someplace better. Instead of dealing with this situation in a negative way, I think the U.S should take care of the Haitians and lend them resources. The Haitians traveled all the way from South America to America, hoping for a better future, for themselves and their family. I think the only human thing to do is to help the Haitians.
the US should help the Haitian migrants out they are living under a bridge and they are struggling to find food to survive and there country is political crisis and the us will not help they at least get them a real place to stay and give them food and water but it is really sad what is going on out there
I think the government should help the Haitian migrants because they are struggling and give them at least shelter and food until they decide what to do.
I think the US should help the Haitian Migrants, but it is understandable why the US would deport them, as both sides have valid arguements.
I believe the US government should help out the 12,000 Haitian people instead of pushing them away because they will continue to struggle if they don't have a life in the US. Their homeland has been in many dangerous events and they are really scared to go back. If the US let the people in, then that can fill up the vacant jobs that the stores and businesses are having due to the pandemic. Therefore the Haitian people can get paid and the US wouldn't have a problem with jobs.
I think that it's pretty obvious that the US government should actually help the Haitians. However, I just think that its heartbreaking hearing parents say that they could go without food but their children can not, which just shows that they just want the best for their children and its scary that this has been happening for years and there are many people who haven't been seen since the interview in this article. In addition, there are so many children who have no choice but go with their parents and the parents must have so much pressure on them for letting them get into this situation.
I think what's happening with the Haitian migrants that are living under the bridge in the Mexican/Texas border is awful and the U.S government should really do something about it. It can be very unsanitary because there are around 12,000 people living in the same area and also the fact that there are not enough bathrooms for everyone. In addition, when the weather gets colder, they might get sick and there's a high chance of them spreading it to others because they live in close proximity to each other. The U.S government should provide them with resources like food and water so that families are able to feed their children. Also, they should provide them with clothing and all the important essentials everyone needs to have in order to survive. They've come all the way from South America and just doing nothing about them living under a bridge is just inhumane, especially because they've come here to have a better life.
I think the US government should support the Haitian migrants by providing them with food, water, and shelter instead of just sending them straight back to their home country. Plus, it's inhumane of them to do that, because who knows how much emotional stress they have gone through especially because of all of the chaos that has happened in Haiti. They just want to have a better life and what harm could it do to give them their essential needs?
I think it is devastating how such a large number of people have to suffer and is hopeless. The worst part is that the children have to suffer too. I think the US government should at least provide the minimum like food and water since they are capable of doing so.
With 12,000 people living under one bridge with 22 bathrooms, it is very stressful for everyone. Even the children have to deal with this problem. The Haitian Migrants just came to America to find a better life because of political issues in their country. I think the US can start to help the migrants such as giving them food and shelter.
its sad how so many people have to live together with such little resources. the US could do a lot to help the migrants.
I think the U.S government should help the 12000 Haitian migrants by giving them food, water, and place to live. I feel bad for them living under the bridge.
it is a horrible situation that the Haitian migrants are living under a bridge and I believe that the U.S Government should help the Haiti. The U.S. for now should request some funding for buildings and food to support the Haitians because it’s so sad to see the struggles in the unstable country. So at least the U.S Government should provide them with a shelter, food, and water.
I think that the US should try to accommodate Haitian immigrants in the U.S just like they did with Afghan refugees, even if it's temporary. This is a test of diplomacy and how well countries can work together when another country is struggling. The countries should be working together to properly transport Haitians instead of overpopulation in one country.
It's awful for 12000 Haitian immigrants living under a bridge and suffering. I think the U.S government should provide water, food and shelter for the immigrants until they know what to do.
I think that it is terrible how those 12,000 Haitian migrants are living under a bridge in the Texas/Mexican border because their living conditions there is awful. There are only 21 bathrooms for all of them to use with little to no food or water. I think that the US should test them for covid or any other test that they need to ensure that they are healthy and if not maybe get them some help in hospitals. The US government has 2 options to help. They can either help pay for their damaged homes or let them into the US where they can most likely find a new living space and start their lives over. Maybe they can help by giving every family a home and food and water until they are able to apply for jobs and support themselves. can get jobs for
I think the U.S government should help the Haitian immigrants and provide them with food, water, and shelter because they're living in terrible conditions and they should have these commodities.
I feel like it's unfair for the Haitian migrants since their country is in a crisis. I think that they deserve to stay at least somewhere they are safe. Doesn't have to be a great place but there should be camps or something.
The US should agree with countries that give immigrants opportunities to all let in a certain amount of immigrants every period. If possible, maybe set up a few camps for temporary living if each country runs out.
i think that it is unfair that the US deports the people back to their countries, why not just drop them to an area or country where they have another chance to live a better life
probably not the best answer bc of alot of issues thoug
I think that the US government should at least provide food and water for the Haitians. It's really sad how the Haitians have to live under such bad conditions, and I think that they are clueless at what they should do. Whenever it is to go back or to stay. Both choices seems bad for them as of now because the US government did not choose to help them yet.
I feel really bad for the 12,000 Haitian migrants because they probably want to leave their country because they want a better life for them and their kids in the U.S. I think that the U.S should at least give them some resources like, food, water, etc.
The situation where 12,000 Haitians migrants are living under a bridge is upsetting and terrible. And I think that it's something no-one should have to go through and experience. I think the US government should help provide shelter and the basic necessities for the Haitians migrants and help them seek refuge because everyone deserves a chance at things and so the Haitians should have a chance at survival and a good life.
the goverment should probably help them because their life Haitian was difficult and they need a better life/ environment to live in.
I think that the US should help the haitan immigrants because they were all struggling
I feel bad for the 12,000 migrants under the bridge, and they only having a total of 22 toilets. The U.S. government should temporarily give the 12,000 immigrants a proper place to stay, or just provide them with food, water, and toilets.
the U.S Government should help the government in Haiti
i think that the government should do something but i said this during school i know they could do something but they choose to ignore it. they tend to choose to ignore the big stuff like murders and suicides, racism but they can listen to store robbery's as if a store is more important then a person killing them self's. and there ablutions are to arrest for life or for a short time as if that helps what about the other prisoners some can protect them self some cant. like there can be bigger problems i know but whats the point of having a a government if they cant solve some problems that can be solved, they can take one day of watching Netflix and actually do there job, this is not a joke racism can harm people emotionally and fiscally. this is a big problem!
Somewhat the government should not control the internet, though, if the social medias are doing something shadily then they should do something but in the mean time somewhere in the middle. Because if it's fully controlled by the government it will be like China, but if it's free-range it will also go to chaos. So in the middle should be good.
I don't think it is necessary for the government to control socials, but I do think it is necessary for parents to teach their children how to behave on social media, and for everyone to enforce and follow the rules more.
I think that the 12,000 Haitian immigrants should be helped somewhat by the government with food and other supplies, I don't think it is fair that they are using whips and phiscally force to kick the people out but rather should be helping them without the abuse.
The U.S should help organize the government of Haiti.
I think that it should be obvious that the US Government should help the 12,000 Haitians living under the bridge. They are living in a dangerous environment with assassination's, bandits, and other dangers. The least the government could do is provide them with food, water, and shelter. This is the least the government could do. The government should also send some help like protection to help them even more.
I think that the government should pay more attention to those people and should help provide food, water and shelter.
I think it unhealthy for all of them to be living under their because they are all not getting clean properly and germs are most likely get passed around. Also if one of them get Covid all of them could also get it. I think the us government should find a place for them to live here because where they used live isn't good living situation.
I think the US should help the Haitian Migrants, but it is understandable why the US would deport them, as both sides have valid arguments.
I think that the government should pay more attention to them and help them out.
12,000 people living under a bridge?! That's very cruel and I think they should be treated like people and not like animals
I think the US government should step up to help them, just like their motherland has experienced two earthquakes, they need to start again.
i think the government should pay more attention and help those people and give them food and water and some where to live.
I think the government should help them because they just want a better life and they need help. Alot of them got killed just to come here. I saw on the news some of the government officers were hitting them and hurting them and I don't think any immigrants should be hurt. I think we should help them with food and water and a place to live.
