I think this is a very serious topic and I will reserve my opinion on the subject since I do not want to influence anyone especially those who are unfamiliar to the topic--but I do expect all students to express their concerns, opinions or even questions on the subject after they read the article on the google stream.
My opinion on voting rights is that All people should be able to vote no matter what ethnicity or background. It should be Easier rand quick for people to vote because if not then people with jobs will be spending time on waiting in line that making money that supports them.
In my opinion, I think the government should really listen on what the citizens have to say and try to relieve the citizens by saying that they're going to solve these problems in the near future. We shouldn't have to create a giant protest to solve these issues that should've been solved ages ago. Everyone should be allowed to vote because everyone has their own opinion on who they want to vote for. Some people are too passionate about this and create rules to get what they want. Nobody wants that and the past shouldn't be repeated.
voting rights should be available to everyone in said country above 18. kids shouldn't be allowed to vote because while they might think they know most about politics, once they become an adult that is when they begin getting an actual economic aspect on the government. however, voting should be available to immigrants and not just citizens because if they live in America they should be able to express their concerns on their own government.
voting rights should be provided to everyone above the age of 18. race, ethnicity, and gender do not matter as long as the voter is 18+. children under 18 do not have much knowledge around politics, so they should not be able to vote until they are educated on the topic. as long as you live in America, you should be allowed to vote. voting is free, and the elected president is very important. voting can be ignored, but it is strongly advised that you vote if you can.
voting rights should be available to everyone in said country above 18. kids should be allowed to vote because the need a say they live here and what happens affects them as well but i do think that they might mess around the should be a age limet like 10
everyone should have the right to vote no matter their race or ethnicity. people be able to have a say the the government
My opinion is that voting should be easy to do for anyone that can vote, there shouldn't be laws restricting people eligible to vote and it should be strongly encouraged to vote. They could also give sources on how voting works and all that to help people who don't really know what to do. But if someone can vote, then they should be registered automatically in the voter registration.
I think voting rights should be available to 18 years old and up. Voting rights should be open to citizens and immigrants because immigrants that lives in America should be able to help make decisions for their concerns.
everyone should have the right to vote, voting is people's opinion and everyone has a right to their opinion. voting is putting people in charge of things and everyone should be able to have a say on who they want running things.
I think people should be allowed to vote regardless of what their racial background, immigration status, etc. is. The amount of people voting shouldn't be decreasing because they aren't able to easily access voting locations. Anyone that is eligible to vote, should have a right and easy access to voting. No one's right of voting should be denied just because a higher up power doesn't want them influencing the vote.
Everyone should be able to vote if they're over 18, race, ethnicity doesn't matter and everyone should be able to have a say about the people they want to be in charge.
I think that voting is a right everyone should have and should be extremely easy while this could be accomplished by making people able to vote on the internet, I believe this is a huge security risk. I agree with the idea that there should be more voting stations and less restrictions on voting.
I believe that everyone should have a right to vote, taking away voting ballots and making people go further to vote is very wrong. This causes a wall for many of those who cannot further to vote.Taking away voting ballots from lower income neighborhoods and putting them in high income neighborhoods? Everyone in the country who is over 18 should have access to voting rights, no one should be not able to vote because of their race, religion, or income.
Voting shouldn't be limited in any way to anyone based on their race or ethnicity as everyone should have a say in the government. Not any that voting should be easy like having more voting sites.
everyone over 18 should be able to vote and it should be easy. In this past election people were allowed to mail in their ballots, making it much easier and safer under covid circumstances to vote. We should make mail in ballots a permanent option, because many people have to work or take care of their kids, and they don't have time to wait in line for 6 hours, especially low income citizens who work two jobs, work long hours at minimum wage jobs, or can't afford a babysitter for their children. This is a form of discrimination against low income Americans. However, I do not think people under the age of 18 should be able to vote. While many teenagers do have firm opinions about political issues, many don't have the experience to make a decision, and not voting in the first year you are allowed to can build a habit of not voting, which would have a negative affect.
I think all people should vote to voice their opinions. I don't want people to be suppressed just because their background or ethnicity. My opinion is just that.
I think everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, regardless of the ethnicity or religion. People under 18 don't have real experiences of the political world yet, and therefore may not make the best decision. I believe the government should work towards a for everyone to vote quickly and efficiently, due to Covid. Furthermore, many people have their own plans and can't afford to spend 6 hours in line waiting to turn in a single vote out of thousands.
i want all types of people to vote, no matter their ethnicity or background. everyone should be heard.
I believe that voting rights should be allowed to everyone, no matter the race/background or ethnicity. People shouldn't have trouble for expressing their opinions about their country. It is absurd that people didn't want certain races to vote and if they were to, give them questions that were almost impossible to answer. All in all, people should be able to vote with no difficulties.
I believe people above the age of 16 should be allowed to vote. This is because studies have shown that maturity is fully developed in 20 year olds. As a result, lowering the minimum age by 2 years, wouldn't affect voter turnout in a bad way. In fact, it would encourage these teenagers to keep voting in the future, and not become discouraged, as older people might.
Furthermore, I believe that there should be more opportunities to vote, to hinder voter suppression, and to keep the US democratic. this can be done through more locations for voting or by being able to send in your votes, to site that will do it for you.
Everyone that is 18 or older should be able to vote no matter their race or ethnicity. There should be more voting stations since each line is always so long and everyone is there waiting for their turn.
i think everyone above the ages of 18 should be able to vote because all people have a say and they have their own opinions to what they are feeling and thinking. i feel that is does not matter what your race is or Ur religion is because all people have a say. the same things goes for immigrants, they should have the right to vote as well because even if they are from another place that isn't from america, they now live there so they should have the same rights like other citizens.
I think everyone over the age of 18 and resides in the US should be allowed to vote, ethnicity and religion should not impact their voting rights. However, people under the age of 18 should not be able to vote because they may be biased. Voting should also be more efficient so people wouldn't have to wait such a long period of time and have their vote only mean 1 out of 150 million people
Voting should be available to everyone no matter their race or color. Allowing everyone to vote can make America's democracy more balanced. For a long time black people were never allowed to vote but white men did. They fought for their rights when the government was against them until they got what they wanted. Even though that has changed now, many people who want to vote nowadays have to wait up to 6 hours to cast their ballot which isn't fair.
I think that everyone that is 18 or older regardless if ethnicity, religion, etc. should be allowed to vote easily. They should all be able to influence things that affect them.
in my opinion I think every one should be able to vote because it not fair if that person gets to vote and that person doesn't get to vote.
I think everyone who is 18 and older should be able to vote easily and quickly. People shouldnt have to wait 6 hours in line to vote because they can get covid or lose their jobs because the lines are too long.
I believe that everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, regardless of their ethnicity or gender. Declining someone who isn't over the age of 18 their right to vote is declining their citizenship. It also shouldn't take over 6 hours to be able to voice their opinion. To require a fee or to prove your level of education to voice your opinion is outrageous. To isolate the ability to vote to one certain population would neglect the needs of the other citizens and the country itself. People should be able to vote quickly and efficiently regardless of who they are.
In my opinion, I think that everyone over the age of 18 should vote. Maybe the age could be messed around with, but just a little bit because most kids are not mature enough to make the decisions that could change the course of something important. Even though age should be an implanted rule, someones race, ethnicity, gender, etc should not be a reason why someone cant vote.
I think everyone over the age of 18 should have the right to vote. People over 18 should be able to share their opinion or concerns and have a voice regardless of their ethnicity or religion. People under the age of 18 might not understand politics.
In my opinion, voting rights are very important, and attempts to curb them should be met with stiff opposition, especially in the US. I don't see the point of trying to prevent voter fraud if there's barely any voter fraud in the first place, so the effects on the voting of oppressed minorities are just unacceptable. Also, since incumbents are using these laws to get themselves reelected, then that's just another reason to stop them.
I think that voting is very important, so that is why i think that those who are 18 and older should be allowed to vote. The reason for this is because some might not understand how important it is and vote for the other person as a "joke". Adults have a bigger grasp on politics due to having more experience in the world. This is why I think that those 18 and older should be allowed to vote.
I believe all people should have equal rights to vote, no matter of ethnic background, or race (*above age 18*). Some policymakers may think certain groups of people– colored and immigrants shouldn’t be privileged to vote. I think that’s incorrect of them because everyone’s opinion should be valid especially as immigrants and other groups have become more educated (in general) throughout time. It’s important for national leaders and citizens to protect voting rights for everyone so more people’s voices can be counted, as their part of this country too.
I believe everyone should be able to vote no matter their ethnicity, gender, or immigration status. Not only do I believe that everyone should be able to vote but it is only right that its more efficient to vote, it should not take up to 6 hours to vote, for that a ridiculous amount of time. I would also like the say that even if one is illegal, they should still be able to vote for they have a future in the US just as citizens do, therefor they too should be able to vote. I think the voting age shall remain 18 for people under that age, may not fully understand politics, or be influenced on who to vote for and not have their own opinion and just going off of what their parents or family say.
i think everyone should be able to vote, regardless of their race, age, gender and etc. i think people under 18 should vote too because they might view things differently, and they have their own opinion.
I think that everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote. No matter their race. I also think that there should be improvements in the process of voting because waiting for 6 hours to vote is unnecessary.
voting rights should be available to everyone above the age of 18 regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity. Children under the age of 18 do not have much political knowledge so they should not be able to vote until they legally adults. Although voting is optional, it is strongly advised that everyone above the age of 18 votes.
I think that voting rights should be available for everyone including all races and ethnicity because they should have a say in the government because they live here too.
I think that anyone 18 years old and above should be allowed to vote regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity or economic background. Also, the voting process should be uncomplicated and accessible, such that anyone who is eligible to vote can do so easily.
anyone above the age 18 should be able to vote because everybody should have a say. children should not be able to vote because many of them don't know about politics. but everyone with different ethnicity, gender, or immigration status can vote.
i think that people of all race/ethnicity and everyone else should be able to vote. if we don't let them vote, it would go back to the old ages where people were excluded and people couldn't vote. i think kids under 18 are responsible enough for it.
I this this is a very serious issue and anyone over 18 should be able to vote.
My opinion on voting rights is that I believe that people above 18 with different types of race, ethnic background, etc are allowed to vote. I believe that people kids are a bit to young to vote and haven’t completely matured yet. All adults should have their own rights and shouldn’t leave out any people if they want to vote. I think that the voting line is too long and should somehow shorten it.
I believe everyone who is a legit US citizen should have every right to vote regardless of their race or ethnicity.
In my opinion, I believe that all US citizens over the age of 18 should be allowed to vote regardless of their ethnicity and gender. Everyone should be able to have a voice and express their opinion. No one should be excluded and stand in line for hours just to cast a ballot. It isn't right.
I believe that all US citizens above the age of 18 regardless of race religion gender etc. should be able to vote and have a say. it’s important to have everyone have a say so that all people’s problems can be accounted for. I think that anyone under the age of 18 shouldn't vote because they aren't mature enough to make decisions that have an effect on the whole country.
i think that everyone over 18 should be have the right to vote no matter if your a citizen or a immigrant because at the end of the day they still live in america and have the same rights as everyone else
I think everyone over 18 should have a right to vote. No matter who they are. Those people over 18 is already adult.
Everyone should be allowed to vote, no matter their social status and ethnic background. (ages 18+) Excluding others from being able to express their opinions defeats the purpose of calling our country a democracy. It’s crazy how some people are trying to prevent others from voting since that is a huge step backward.
Everyone Who is 18 Should have the right to vote because they are pretty much Adults. Background Story doesn't matter they should have the right to vote and why the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified in 1870 to let black people to vote also.
I believe that race and background shouldn't be an obstacle whenever you vote. If you're 18+ and a citizen, you should have the right to vote whoever you want freely. If this happens, then more voting centers will open and lines will get shorter which makes it easier for everybody to vote. This also helps people not waste their time just waiting in a line for hours and lose money for jobs.
Everyone should be able to vote as long as they are 18+. It shouldn’t matter what race, what their background is, or what their social status is. Overall, everyone should be able to vote as long as they are 18+.
I think everyone eligible to vote should be allowed to vote, no matter their background, looks, or social class. It is their/ our basic right as Americans to have a voice in our government, even if it's just casting one vote. The policies politicians are coming up with to hinder this right is simply wrong. It is discrimination against certain groups and that is what the makers of our Constitution and so many people throughout our history worked so hard to get rid of. So why are people trying to bring it back now?! These policies should not be something minority groups have to worry about when exerting their basic rights.
I believe that everyone, no matter their race, gender, ethnicity, and background, etc., who are qualified to vote (18 or over), should be allowed to vote. In the United States, it is important that all people are able to exercise their civil right, so it wouldn't be okay that only a certain amount of people have an upper hand over that.
I believe that everyone eligible, regardless of their race, gender, social class, etc. should be allowed to vote and and not be prevented in doing so. In addition, voting should be easy and should not take up the majority of the day as some people with lower paying jobs cannot afford to take up so much time out of their day to vote. Furthermore, voting laws that are discriminatory against ethnic minorities should not exist.
Everyone above the age of 18 should be able to vote even if you aren’t a citizen you should also be able to vote because you are part of the country and you should have a say in what’s going on
I believe that anyone over the age of 18 or over should be allowed to vote. No matter their background or gender they should be allow to vote if they are a U.S citizen. No one should be left out of not being able to vote.
My opinion on voting rights is that everybody, who is 18 or older and a U.S citizen, should be able to vote in a convenient, efficient, and non-discriminatory way. To enforce this, I support some states' efforts to automatically register voters. However, there are more actions that need to be taken to realize this ideal. Instead of proposed bills that bring back parts of the Voting Rights act, I firmly believe that the whole act should be put into effect again. The failed Reconstruction period and recent racial tension in America has shown that preclearance is still needed to fight deep-rooted racism and bigotry in some states. In addition, there needs to be more voting spots, which increases voter turnout. Many people don't have the time to wait in a line and travel to voting spots when they're preoccupied with taking care of their family, their job, etc.
Everyone should be able to vote no matter their race or background as long as they are 18 or older and a U.S. citizen, since it's fair.
I believe that all US citizens over the age of 18 should be allowed to vote regardless of their ethnicity and gender. Everyone should be able to have a voice and express their opinion.
i think anyone should be able to vote because its equal rights and people should have the right to choose who runs there country because gender race and more dont mean anything everyone is human
I believe that everyone should be able to vote no matter the age, color, gender. There are many kids who have strong beliefs not just adults. Kids will be the new generation and decisions would affect their future so they should have a say on what happens.
My opinion on voting rights is that anyone the age of 18 or older should be allowed to vote regardless of their social status, race, religion, gender identity, and view points even though this problem was thought to be solved entirely in 1964.
In my opinion, everyone over 18 should be able to vote, no matter their race or identity. Voting gives the people some sort of power for what they want in the government. In addition, it allows them to control what kind of society they want to live in.
I think everyone who is 18 or older should be able to vote regardless of their race and gender. And I also think there should be more voting stations since there are a lot of people waiting for their turn. This cause people have to wait hours in line.
I think everyone over 18 should have the right to vote regardless of their race, gender, and social class. Everyone has their own opinion and they all should be heard. Everyone under 18’s opinion is also valid but I think they are to young to vote.
I believe that everyone 18 or above should have the equal rights to vote no matter what their social status/beliefs/race are and society should have rights to vote for whoever they want to
Anyone should be able to vote. Ethnicity, race, and gender shouldn't matter as long as your educated enough in order to make the right decision for the country.
in my opinion it should be easy for everyone above the age of 18 to vote however i think then should still be the requirement of being a citizen to vote but make it easier to become one because many immigrants have lived in the US for long amounts of time but don't know how to become a citizen
I believe anyone 18 or above should have equal voting right no matter like their race, gender and basically their identity, because they should be able to speak out their minds no matter and yeah
I think voting rights should be given to people that are 18 or older no matter who they are or where your from since the power to vote shouldn’t be behind a wall that takes away that right because you came from a different country and immigrated or religion
I think that everyone above 18 should have the right to vote as citizens of the United State. No laws or problems should stop people with any race, ethnicity or beliefs to vote. For example the problem of how people have difficulties with few polling places made it hard for individuals who aren’t able to travel that far. The country should tolerate inclusive democracy, where everyone is included.
I believe that everyone above the age of 18 should be allowed to vote. Children don’t really have enough information and knowledge to make a reasonable decision. However, people of different races (above 18) do have enough information to vote. Everyone no matter the ethnicity or race should be allowed to vote.
My opinion is that every American citizen, at least 18 years old, should be allowed to vote no matter what ethnicity or background. The government should make voting easy and quick for the citizens.
My view on voting rights is that everyone should have the right to vote regardless of race or ethnicity.
I believe that all citizens at the age of 18 and up should be able to vote. Being an US citizen means that you are allowed to vote, so nothing should prevent citizens from voting. Gender, race, and ethnicity should also not be reasons restricting people from voting. I also think that there should be a way to vote efficiently. Waiting for 6 hours and maybe even over 6 hours to vote is insane.
I believe that everyone no matter what your race, ethnicity, and gender, and age above 18 you should be allowed to vote because everyone have rights to vote. People are discriminate because of who their are, and voting rights was not even given to them. Everyone have the right to expressed their opinion and thought through voting. Voting line is too long, and people have to wait a long time to vote, if it was shorten, people with different race, gender, and etc can vote and not have to wait in line.
I think everyone should have the right to vote no matter what their backgrounds are. As long as they are at least 18, which means they are educated enough to vote. Any form of voter suppression is discrimination and takes away our right to vote
I believe that the voters' rights shouldn't be suppressed as long as they're over the age of 18. It shouldn't matter what race, gender, or background they have when it's eligible for them as U.S. citizens. Due to discrimination and other grounds, voting rights won't be properly justified for an interminable duration.
I think that voting should be availoble to people 18 and older. I think that it’s a fair enough age because I think that they are mature enough to make these decisions. If you can drive a car at 16 then seems reasonable to be able to vote at 18. The voting system should also be more organized so that people won’t have to waste their time waiting in line. If possible maybe they can set up online websites for people to vote so it won’t take up time. Although that seems like too much work. Any who, people have things they need to take care of, and waiting for hours isn’t really helping
I think that everyone should be allowed to vote with equal rights. As long as someone is 18 and above, they should be eligible to vote and have no restrictions while voting. Making things more complicated and longer just makes it harder for everyone.
From experience, I can say for sure, most people 18 and under don't really care about politics because it won't affect them much. So, in my opinion, regardless of ethnicity or background, people should be allowed to vote if they are 18 and over and are a citizen of the country.
Since the only 2 requirements to vote is 18 and older and being a US citizen, it’s honestly so dumb that people will try and discourage a certain race or gender to not vote and be racially motivated.
I think that everyone should be able to vote, since it represents people in regards to their decision. Not being able to vote is like taking away their say in the world, and that’s just wrong.
Every citizens of the United State above 18 should have the right to vote. Their race, ethnicity or beliefs shouldn’t make it harder for them to vote. And 18 is a good age, they understand their rights and have more information about politics than, when they were 16.
I believe that all US citizens should be allowed to vote regardless of their ethnicity and gender. Everyone should be able to express their opinion. No one should be excluded and stand in line for hours just to cast a ballot. People shouldn't have trouble for expressing their opinions about their country. So people should be able to vote with no difficulties
I think all people should get to vote because is it really fair? To take away somebody saying or who would like to vote that's just mess up they should do it when their 16 because they already understand most the things about voting.
i think everyone have the right to vote because everyone get a say like susan b anthony helped woman get right to vote
I believe anyone above the age of 18 should be able to vote. I don't think politics matter to anyone below the age of 18 since younger people don't care much about politics. Something I do believe is everyone should have a voice in voting no matter the ethnicity or gender. The only other requirement I'd say is you must be a resident in the United States in order to vote.
I think that everybody should have right because everybody should be treated equal it dose int really matter if someone from different country votes.
I think everyone should be allowed to vote in the US because its equal right and also it take peoples voice from them and i think kids under 18 have really good voice and they can make a big in pack to the USA. SO i think kids under 18 should not wait until 18 to vote.
in my opinion everyone should have the right to vote no matter there race, religion ,sexuality or gender identity.even tho if they are an immigrant they should be allowed to vote. and people should be treated equally.
I think everyone could vote when they are 18 years or older because everyone is that age to 18 years and older they are young or a old adult and they have the right to vote for who ever they want to vote for. the people that live somewhere else that is not at U.S and when they get the legal pass to live here or something else they should have the right to vote. So that's why everybody should have the right to vote after they get there legal rights.
i think everyone should be able to vote.if they are a US citizens or have been in the US long enough as well as being over 18.i think it's not fair that only because of their race and gender they are not allowed to vote.
i believe that voting rights should not be just passed around but she be something worthy to be given. it is a hard topic to think about and i'm not sure who should really vote but this is just my opinion
My opinion on voting right is that everyone should the right to vote and shouldn't have to wait in long line for hours to just to vote. Also, some people don't have the time to wait in line all day they need to work and do other things.
I think all people should vote because everyone should have equal right men and women just because you’re a certain gender doesn’t mean u can’t vote
I think everyone should be allowed to vote if they are old enough. People shouldn't have to wait hours on line to vote and people should be allowed to leave work to vote and not got in trouble. Also its not fair that some black people have a hard time voting. They should have the law to protect them to make sure they can vote.
I think everybody should vote because it is important to not only the country’s future but also for what the citizens wish for the country’s future to be. Certain people not being able to vote because of certain differences or hate between people is not a good reason to stop people from voting.
I think anybody should be able to vote and decide what happens to their country. And anybody and anyone should be able to vote no matter what race
I think it is a serious problem that you are unable to vote because of your race and because what kind of job you hold and you shouldnt be able to get punished for voting
i feel that voting rights should be available to everyone in the said country above the age of 18, and voting rights should not be given to children because if they had voting rights, they could vote for president just to make them make stupid decisions and ruin society.
i think everyone over the age of 18 should be allowed to vote no matter their race or ethnic background
dang you said it straight
The government cannot and should not infringe on the voting rights of its citizens. All people over the age of 18, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation should be able to vote. Regarding the age minimum of 18, that has it’s roots in the Vietnam War. Young men, 18 years old, were being drafted to fight in the war. However, they could not vote, and essentially had no say in whether the government could send them to their deaths or not. If you are old enough to fight, you should be old enough to vote. But what about younger ages? Why shouldn’t they vote aswell? The brain needs ample time to develop and mature, and the brain of a 10 year old isn’t quite there yet. Many kids don’t even follow the news, and so would be completely unaware of what they were voting for. Even more kids could be tricked, or even bribed. The specific age 18 was chosen because scientists believe that is when the brain has developed enough for this task. This is why 18 is considered the year you become an adult, because that is when you can both vote and fight in a war. I can then safely say; with no ifs, ands, or buts; that any adult should be able to vote regardless of race, culture, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.
i think everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, as over the age of 18 is technically an adult.
