The crisis in the Ukraine is so sad. The images of people forced to leave their homeland on social media are heart wrenching. Missiles go into apartment buildings and nuclear plants under attack by Russian forces are appalling. We need to pay very close attention to this world crisis. It is already impacting gasoline prices in America. If Russia decides to attack other NATO countries, we will have to make some very difficult choices.

I think it’s not surprising that Russia is invading other neighboring countries considering the amount of power they lost over the years and it’s not that big of a shocker that Russia would want some of the power they once had back. To make it worst, Putin is an authoritarian leader so his ways of handling things are obviously harsher than others. However, it doesn’t make it right for Russia to bomb and invade other countries with weaker militaries than them just because they lost the power they once had. The amount of innocents they are hurting is increasing, they are forcing people to leave their own country, and they are destroying buildings, some of which are people’s homes.

Ukraine being invaded and attacked by Russia is a very harsh topic to hear about. many soldiers and civilians have already died from this unnecessary bloodshed. I believe that this is more of Putins war then Russias as a whole. Putin needs to make his statement that his is a threat and that he is still powerful. many Russian soldiers were probably not expecting to fight a war when deployed into Ukraine but now they must endure the damage done and fight in Putins war.

i think that it is going to get worst from here because Ukraine is not backing away and running, they are fighting back and they seem to be fighting back pretty well. Russia does not want to go down either so its basically a brawl until Russia gets the land or Russia gives up. Ukraine is fighting for their freedom, their lives, the lives for their children. they wont be discouraged and they don't seem like they are going to give up.

I think the situation that is happening right now is disappointing and sad mainly because Putin, the leader or Russia is making a decision that could effect thousands negatively to make him more powerful. I also feel unsure that America, or any other countries aren't doing anything about this situation except offering their help to Ukraine. However, I do understand because if America or any other country attacks Russia World War I will officially start, which wouldn't be smart in this type of time.

I think that Russia is trying to get back their power but I think the way Putin is handling it is extremely harsh because he doesn't seem to be allowing for the citizens and innocent people in Ukraine to evacuate. He's also sending many missiles to blow up buildings, and monuments.

In my opinion its not a surprise that Russia is invading Ukraine. Ukraine has been deciding to join or not join NATO Ukraine used to be part of the USSR and defeating Ukraine would show the world Russia is still powerful. These current events are following the history of Russia's war reputation of pushing around smaller countries for example in the world wars when they invaded much smaller countries for their own

Obviously, Putin invading Ukraine is not justified in any way. I think Putin wants power and control and to eliminate anything he sees as a threat. He silences anyone who speaks up against him in his own country. It's heartbreaking how so many innocent civilians are being killed and are forced to leave their own country. There's also many Russian soldiers that also don't want this unnecessary conflict.

In my opinion, I hate that Putin is invading Ukraine. There's already a lot of things happening in this sad world and he's making it worse. With US and other countries that are in NATO helping Ukraine though, and citizens not buying Russian products but Ukrainian products around the world, etc, I have hope. I hope Ukraine and its people will be the victors of this terrible situation.

I think that russia invading ukraine is awful because it puts innocent people at risk and it causes people to become refuges and to walk a lot just to flee ukraine. it is also causing a lot of damage to ukraine such as buildings falling, deaths and food supply being low. I think the time and reason that Russia invaded Ukaraine wanted to join NATO which Russia didnt want because if Ukraine attacks or does anything to Ukraine every country in NATO will do something about it and Russia wouldnt want that and they did what they did in order to prevent that from happening,

I think it should've been expected that Putin and Russia was going to have some conflicts with Ukraine as they have been thinking to join NATO, a peace treaty with many countries since the past decade and a half. It is very unfortunate that Putin doesn't want peace and decides to invade Ukraine, causing innocent civilians to be injured or worse. Even though this is happening, many people from all over the world, including civilians of Russia want peace, so that's a good sign, but as things are right now, the future does not look great.

What is happening in Ukraine is awful and unnecessary. We should not have hate for Russia as a country, for they have no control over the situation. Putin is the one who decided to deploy troops into Ukraine, troops who didn't know that they would be fighting in a war. People in both Russia and Ukraine are suffering immensely and I think that NATO should help Ukraine and allow them into NATO after the war is over. I also think that gas prices are going to be raised because Russia is going to cut off most of the world from using resources.

I believe whats currently happening in Ukraine is disappointing. Putin wants to show his country is still strong, so he is deciding to target countries with weaker militaries. Russia is putting innocent people in Ukraine at risk, and most Russian soldiers do not know where they are being sent. The war going on between Russia and Ukraine is very heart breaking, and sad. Many soldiers have died on both sides (Russia & Ukraine's). Also many innocent people who've died due to Putin's ignorant and brutal actions. Putin is a terrible human, and this war is truly unnecessary and unfair, Russian military greatly outnumbers Ukraine's.

I think that the problem between Russia and Ukraine is pretty upsetting. It isn’t right for Russia to invade hundreds of innocent people that were in Ukraine and have to make they move just because of the attack that Russia did. The president of Russia wanted more power and doing this isn’t helping him to achieving that goal.

I think that while it is awful that so many innocent people are getting caught up in a war that shouldn't involve them at all (ex. the civilians from Ukraine and Russians who DON'T support Putin), it's not really a surprise that this is happening. We should have known that this was a bomb waiting to explode and made preparations to make sure so many innocent people are not dying in this war.
Additionally, while I'm not 100% sure how the Russian government works (and I'm not saying America's government is the best or anything), I'm pretty sure Russians cannot vote to kick their leader out of office like the Ukrainians did with the previous Ukrainian leader who was pro-Russia. I read that Putin can/ is going to stay in office until 2036, which is 14 more years from now. It is a bit sad to think about how we're referring to this invasion as RUSSIA invading, as if all of Russia has one mind, which is obviously not true. There are people in Russia that are protesting this invasion, and risking themselves by doing so, which I really admire.

I believe that the situation going on with Russia and Ukraine is extremely upsetting due to the amount of people being put in danger, both military soldiers and innocent civilians. Invading Ukraine was uncalled for as Putin is leading this war for the sole reason that he feels weak since Russia isn't in its former military glory. Putin is putting the lives of countless people in danger because he wants more power. Ukraine is standing strong, which is admirable as Russia is so much larger than Ukraine and that Ukraine and Russia used to be allies. Putin is simply acting as someone who is so obsessed with power he doesn't care about the consequences to both his country and the enemy's.

This war that Putin is starting is very unnecessary and is going to affect many countries negatively. Putin began this war to try and regain any power he could get. His frustration over Russia's decline in power led to this war, with no benefits for either side at the moment. The Ukrainians are doing well to defend themselves, even if they have a weaker army. However, because they're choosing to defend themselves and stay independent, this will cause many lives of soldiers who are going to fight the Russians.

I believe that the situation with Russia is just terrible. Putin's urge for power is causing many families in Ukraine to flee their homes and thousands of lives were lost. Just because Russia's power is weakening, Putin is allowing innocents citizens to be killed just for power. Not only that but the citizens of Russia didn't ask for this war and yet they also have to suffer with countries/brands cutting off ties with Russia, just because their leader wants to strength the country's power.

Everyone already knows that this is terrible, so instead of talking about that, I'll talk about the why and and consequences. So, why is Putin doing this? I think it's to test the West (hey, that rhymes!). He wants to see if he can do what he wants in Eastern Europe, and he wants to make the West look weak and incompetent if they do nothing or if Ukraine falls quickly. He already failed that, since the response from the US and EU was quick and desicive, with the extra sanctions and the sale of arms. Not to mention that the war has dragged on a bit longer than Putin would have liked, and the longer the war goes on, the more trying to make the West look bad backfires. However, there was also an economic reason to start the war. Ukraine is the largest grain and vegetable oil producer in the world, as well as a large producer of steel, so cntrolling those resources would help the Russian economy and give them more sway in world affairs. Of course, Russia also wants to become a superpower again, so that's another reason. Now for the possible outcomes. If Russia blitzes through the country today and forces a capitulation, then Russia would have accomplished everything it wanted to. However, if the war lasts longer, it becomes like the Winter War. The Russians waste way too many resources on beating a small country and win a pyrrhic victory, in both men, resources, and prestige. Hopefully, that's what happens. Sadly, a Ukrainian Victory isn't really conceivable at the moment.

My opinion on the invasion of Ukraine by Russia is that I'm surprised by how defiant the Ukraine government is in the face of Russia, a country that has far more military power than Ukraine. I think it is wise of America to send its troops to guard other countries in case of an invasion, instead of making an official military agreement with Ukraine, so it doesn't become a target of an invasion by Russia. Albeit, there have been tension between these countries since WWI and the U.S has just as much military power and weaponry as Russia. The predictions that American aid groups make are devastating, and goes to show that in war, nobody wins.

The actions that Russia is taking against Ukraine is cruel and unnecessary. Just because Putin wants to show the rest of the world that Russia is still powerful does not mean that he has to brutally attack a peaceful country like Ukraine, which established independence in 1991. All because of one man's pride and hunger for power, many innocent people are losing their homes, being forced out of their country, even losing their lives in this senseless war.

My thoughts on this are that Russia's President, Putin should've known the consequences of invading Ukraine. A reason he invaded Ukraine is probably that he wanted to show off Russia's imperialism, that it can still influence other nations (especially Eastern Europe). I feel like it's unnecessary to do so because if Russia continues to attack, it's economic affairs with NATO will be very limited.
So in my opinion, Russia shouldn't do itself a disadvantage when trying continue taking Ukraine. And yes, it is unfair to Ukrainians who have to suffer loses.

I think it is horrible that Russia is invading Ukraine. All of the innocent civilians in Ukraine are affected, in addition to the Russians who don't want to have war but are forced to fight, all because Putin wants Russia to be powerful again after the fall of the Soviet Union. Another major concern is whether this war would lead to WW3, and I believe that unless Russia attacks a NATO country, there's probably an unlikely chance it would happen. All in all, I hope that Ukraine can overcome Russia's advances and that everyone there would be safe.

I strongly believe that this conflict between Ukraine and Russia is unnecessary. Ukraine wanted to join NATO, however, Russia disagreed and that is what led to this conflict. Not to mention, the Russians have convicted several war crimes. The war will only lead to casualties of civilians and innocent people just because Putin wants to be closer to the previous territories of the Soviet Union. I see people argue that NATO should be helping Ukraine, however, this would only escalate this situation. Russia is the only country that is escalating, currently, as of now. If NATO gets involved physically, it could potentially break out into a world war. That is why NATO is currently putting sanctions and sending supplies to Ukraine but not sending troops, which is the right thing to do. The only way this ends is if these countries agree to peace, which I hope they find a way to agree to a deal.

I believe that although Putin's actions seemed to be unprecedented, they were foreseeable. ever since Russia lost lots of its territory with the collapse of the soviet union, border and territory disputes have been very prevalent. These actions are also most likely caused, by a insatiable hunger for power, that most authoritarian dictators try to quench. However, I believe that this is Putin's war, not the war of Russia. in fact, most russians believe the war to be justified, through intense propaganda, and suppression of freedom of speech and of the press. In addition, the war will only continue, if strong support for Putin remains in the Russians, as ultimately, the fate of a country lies in its people.

It is jealous of Putin, the authoritarian leader of Russia to put up a war against Ukraine and its people just because he wanted Russia to become a powerful country like it used to be during time of the Soviet Union. its not a surprise that Russia is invading Ukraine.

I think that this war is unfair and really unnecessary. Innocent civilians of Ukraine are being killed and hurt just because Putin wants to show that Russia is not weak. This war seems like Putins war rather than Russia's. Russian soldiers didn't have any idea they were going to fight in a war when they were deployed in Ukraine. It's not fair to, soldiers and innocent civilians from both sides. But now they must continue and fight the war until the end.

I think that this war is really unnecessary and horrible because Russia just want to have it's status back again, but people are losing lives and Putin should really just stop. He's only harming himself and the people of Russia,

I feel like this is terrible and awful, many Ukrainian citizens are at risk everyday and families members are being forced to this unnecessary war. While all of this is just for Putin to put up a show to show everyone russia is still a powerful nation.Thousand lives at risk but at what cost?

My opinion on what’s happening right now between Russia and Ukrainian is that its upsetting seeing the affects of Vladimir Putin decisions on soldiers and civilians, soldiers on both sides are getting injured and killed with Ukrainians fighting for their life and country. While many of the younger Russian soldiers are sent to war without even knowing. But Putins action were not completely unexpected with troops gathering at the border for years as well as the history Russia and Europe have together.

The conflict happening in Ukraine is terrible to think that it all happened because one man felt that Russia still needed to show off its power. This prideful display will cost lives and displace millions of people.

The crisis in Ukraine is distressing. I am deeply distressed that this war has put more innocent people at risk.

I think what has happened in Ukraine is very unfortunate, where many innocent people and families have been separated by the war, which has resulted in the deaths of innocent people and soldiers.

I think it’s unfair that Russia is attacking the Ukraine.it’s so sad that they’re splitting families apart because they need more troops.I also believe that the whole reason of this is not a good reason to attack them, just because they’ve lost the power they had.

This situation between Russia and Ukraine is really unfortunate, considering the damage done to both countries. A lot of innocent Ukrainian citizens were killed by the Russian troops. If this continues, troops and citizens from both countries would be in terrible hands. Though, Putin was the one who initiated the invasion and controlled Russia. However, the invasion in Ukraine wasn’t unexpected as Russia already lost a lot of territory.

I think that this war is mostly putins war and i i should have realized that there would be conflict between them since Ukraine wanted to join NATO. Putin, as the dictator he is wanted to get his lane back (ukraine) since after world war 2 some of russias land was lost and turned into another country. This war shouldn’t have happened because to remain the peace with the whole country without starting a major conflict. Many soldiers are dying and even the soldiers from russia don’t want to fight this war. If Putin wants his land back he should just go fight for it himself.

The Russian president is consumed by desire and blinded. Because of this decision, Ukrainian residents will face the fragmentation of their families. Just because of the selfish desires of the Russian president

In my opinion, Putin's actions are not justified in any way, considering how selfish he's being. Ukrainian citizens are suffering just because Putin wants territory, and it will reward no one but him.

I think that it’s not any good to start a war. Russia’s invasion had already harmed so many people. I don’t understand why Putin decided that he wanted a war because he wanted powers. Is power really more important in front of the thousands of lives? But all I wish is that this war will stop.

I think that there is no need for Putin to show how powerful Russia is by going in war with Ukraine. Seeing the amount of soldiers and citizens getting hurt is sad. Even if Putin wants to go in war with Ukraine, it isn't the correct time to do so. There is too many things going on in the World right now to start a war. I can't really say much about other countries' decisions. I just hope that the war can end as soon as possible.

The situation Ukraine is in is very upsetting. I personally think that Vladimir Putin should mostly be blamed. Not the entirety of Russia. Vladimir Putin is already has a lot of power and yet he wants more. I do although agree with Biden when he wanted to cut off all oil connections with Russia. I just hope the best for the Ukrainian people and wish the best for those who are protesting in the streets of Russia against Putin.

I think that’s it’s stupid how Putin wants more power, can’t he see that he owns the most land out of everybody in the whole world??? He’s greedy enough but starting a war is so dumb right now. After two years we are still dealing with the pandemic and so many other major things. But this isn’t surprising either considering that Putin has put his soldiers on the borders for years and he might even go full nuclear mode. Overall Putin is stupid and greedy for causing a useless war when he already had everything he needs

The Russian invasion of Ukraine right now is horrible. Putin blaming NATO and western expansion are just excuses to invade Ukraine because all he wants is power. and it's even worse because he's targeting innocent civilians. it's ridiculous since Putin denies Ukraine's existence even though the culture has existed for centuries and i agree with the sanctions on Russia right now but i hope the war would end

In my opinion, Putin is a very greedy and evil person. It is sad for both sides to have to be forced to fight in a war. Deaths are the last thing anyone wants to witness. As the situation escalates, Ukrainians lose their homes and families, forcing them to go on a very long journey to the nearest refugees. Best case scenario is that Russia stops invading Ukraine and make peace.

I think that this situation is awful both because many innocent people are dying and because other places can’t really help Ukraine. We just have to watch as innocent people die without helping because if other countries get involved, then there will be another war. It’s upsetting knowing that nobody can really stop the invasion, places are sending in supplies and are taking in people that have fled Ukraine but beside that there won’t really be much anybody else can do to stop the invasion. Putin is in my opinion power hungry and greedy for invading Ukraine, he is disregarding the lives of innocent people. There are also people in Russia protesting and getting taken away for protesting against war which is terrible.

In my opinion the way that Putin is trying to have Russia reclaim power is extremely severe. Launching a barrage of rockets towards buildings and destroying peoples homes. Its upsetting that Ukrainian civilians are being pushed out of their houses and are being forced to flee into dangerous locations.

I’m my opinion I think that Putin doesn’t have to go to war with Ukrainian jus to prove that they can “beat” them in a battle because that’s jus making it harder and unsafe for the citizens in both places

It’s not surprising that Russia is invading neighboring countries, considering the amount of power they lost over the years. Russia would want some of the power they once had back. Putin is an authoritarian leader, his ways of handling things are harsher than others. The amount of innocents they are hurting is increasing. And Russia is forcing people to leave their own country. They are destroying buildings, some of which are people’s homes.

The situation between Russia and Ukraine is very upsetting because they are putting innocent people at risk, just to take over a part of their land that used to be theirs, even when they separated and formed into their own country.
