Some worry about high school and what it is going to be like and other worry about the college application
I worry about Halloween and about my future and my choices for which
high school I'll apply for.
Emily, you worry about Halloween? Why?
Another issue that is most important to teenagers is doing good in school so we can go to a good college and have a good future.
Besides the pandemic the issue that is most important to teenagers is probably school. In March schooling was more relaxed because there was no decided plan for it but now, since there is a more fixed plan for school , grading can be more strict and students can feel stressed if they don't understand certain subjects that are being taught.
Besides the pandemic teenagers are probably most worried about their grades, especially 8th and 7th graders going into High school. Their grades are very important for high school admissions and you could end up in a totally different high school than what you wanted if your scores were bad or you could end up the the school you always wanted to enroll in.
Besides the pandemic, there are a lot of issues that are most important to teens and that they need to be resolved. One issue that most teens face and needs to be resolved is bullying. Lots of people especially teens face bullying. As a result this can cause a problem called depression, and can harm a person eternally. Words have Power. Another issue that most teens face is STRESS. Stress about Academics, or stress in general. Stress can harm you mental health because there is lots of anxiety and depression that goes into stress. Furthermore, the factors that causes stress are that a teen is facing a lot of pressure, facing changes, worrying, in times of uncertainty, etc. Not only, does most teens face stress, most teens face the causes of stress. All in all bullying and stress are two of the boundless issues that teens face, and also the most common issues among teens.
Zihao, I agree---- bullying is one unresolved issue that continues to ruin too many young lives. The best remedy is NEVER BULLY ANYONE! and REPORT THOSE WHO DO! If we all did this, the cases of bullying would drop dramatically!
For me, it’s learning issues and high school issues. We are doing online learning and this isn’t the best way to learn. In addition, the way of choosing high schools might be different and more complicated because of the pandemic. Having a teacher’s help face by face is better.
I think that worrying about school applications only apply to certain groups of teenagers. However, the issue I think is most important to teenagers is health both physically and mentally since staying inside can affect both a person's physical health and mental health in a negative way.
Most is worries about high school and what going to happen in the future.
some kids can worry about there life after high school
I think teenagers have the most trouble with school. Its where we spend most our time on. Not only that but the fact that we 8th graders are going to high school next year will be stressful. There will be lots of tests. During this pandemic everything is messy. The Shsat has also been pushed back. Im nervous about if Im doing well in school.
Besides the pandemics teens like me face a lot of stress, it is very stressful in the times doing school work and worrying about grades. It is harder to do assignments by ourselves as well, all the work kind of just piles up. When I have work I don't do because I distract myself I just procrastinate and sometimes work becomes to stressful. As well, teens face a lot of bullying today just because of how they look, what they were, what they eat, there ethnicity etc. Bullying is a huge problem within teens and a major problem that needs to stop because words do hurt and can put people in bad places. I'm am very worried about high school because we don't know how anything is going to happen we can only hope for the best it is very stressful to prepare and it feels like were going into high school with blind eyes.
If you are in 8th grade and are applying to an audition school, I think one of the most important issues are high school auditions. Students are worried about what they are going to be like since they will be different because of the pandemic and they don't know what to expect.
Besides the pandemic, I think that the issue that is most important to teenagers is school. School is really different, and I think most of us are still trying to get used to online/ blended learning. Grading policies and applying to schools might be different.
Other than the pandemic, I think some of the important issues teens have to deal with is getting a good education. We still have to apply for a high school, and have to get good grades in order to go into a good high school
Other then the Covid-19 pandemic, I think that some other things that teenagers have to worry about is high school and getting a good education in order to get to a high school that can help you proceed in life
I guess the most important issue for teens is the SHSAT or getting a good education. Remote and blended learning are new and some might have trouble adjusting to it.
Other than the Pandemic, most teenagers are worried about what high schools they’re going to and their grades. For me, I still have no idea what highschool I wanna go to so I’m still trying to figure it out.
Other than the Pandemic, most teenagers are probably worring about their future and about their education.
Other then the academic issues I'm quite worried about our social lives as well. It's going to be quite awkward when communicating with people or doing anything fun since we're all told to stay 6 feet away all the time.
I feel like things that are also important to teenagers is doing good in school and making sure that they get good grades. They are also worried about their futures and about applying to schools
Besides the pandemic the most obvious issue to teenagers would be future education. Due to Covid-19 many events have been delayed or canceled. For instance, the SHSAT had been delayed for a long time and the DOE is still unsure how students would take the test. Other issues that teenagers could be stress from schoolwork because most people are learning online which is different from physically siting inside a classroom. Information might not be clear when learning online.
I think issues teens are facing beside the pandemic is remote learning, it is harder to learn remotely than being in school and learning with a live teacher and other students.
I worried about what's going to happen in the future and what's going to happen in high school.
Besides the pandemic, I think a lot of teens are worrying about their future education. For example, last year the seventh graders didn't have the state test. In addition, tests and applications such as the SHSAT was delayed and there isn't a new date. So, our future education is unknown.
I think that the most important issue to me would be high school because we can't just think about the past. We also have to think about the future and how living during the pandemic will affect our grades, our mental and physical health as well
Besides the pandemic, some issues for teens is how are they going to be taking tests/applying for school and how it works because of how everything has been canceled or push back. Another issue is how teens are learning because when at home you can get easily distracted since it is your home. But at school, there are not much things for you to get distracted by.
Besides the pandemic, I think teens are worrying about their futures because the world is like lost and people don't know what could happen in a couple months.
Besides the pandemic, it’ll say that school is probably one of the most important matters currently, since teens have to worry if their grades are good enough or they might still be trying to adjust to online or blended learning. For me, It’ll say school is the most stressful and important currently as the SHSAT was delayed and everything... :|
Besides the pandemic, teens probably have a big issue with school. Because of the pandemic many things are different and it can be hard to adjust to. I've seen it on social media where people complain about online learning being extremely overwhelming. Not to mention the high school admission methods are going to be pretty different. The SHSAT is delayed and it can be stressful for many.
Besides the pandemic, I believe that the most important issue for teens mainly centers around concerns about their academical performances and their social stresses at school. Teenagers go through a lot of hardships in middle school. They experience bullying, they experience social issues with friends, they experience personal issues at home with their parents or siblings that can indeed inflict stress, they experience emotional trauma from low grades, and they even have personal developmental relationships/conflicts with boys at school that cause a lot of pure pressure, leading to emotions that are hard to express or contain.
I try to not worry about things. If I had to decide what I'm worrying about the most, it might be what I want to do in the future. I'd prefer to be able to do whatever I want without having to settle, but that's probably not going to happen. So I have to figure something else out that would give me a decent amount of freedom to do whatever.
Most likely about school or about their future. For me, I’m most worried about high school admissions.
Besides the pandemic, the issue might probably about remote learning. It could be difficult for students to focus, especially when their little siblings is around them and their parents were talking all the time. In addition, some students might have trouble controlling themselves from doing other stuff that they were not suppose to do during the class time. Furthermore, learning remotely might not get a full understanding about the materials that are taught by the teachers.
The most mentioned issues are mainly about school in general. High school applications, the SHSAT Test, grades, etc. That, I agree with. For me, I also worry about if my records and grades are good enough. Online school does not make these worries any smaller.
I agree! It's hard not to worry about anything during these difficult times. And yes, online schooling just seems to add on to the pressure that teenagers are already going through. My top concerns are grades, the SHSAT test for the specialized high schools as well as the auditions test for the performing arts high schools, high school applications, and a personal matter that needs to be taken care of at home that adds to the stress that I'm already enduring. These are common issues worldwide for teenagers to worry about.
Well, I read that many of your concerns pertain to school. Whether it is to enter a good high school and/or college. I hear you all! Although I am obviously not a teenager, I have similar concerns about my daughters and whether we will be able to afford the college of their choice. Only time will tell, (they are just 6 and 8 years old) unless a political leader pushes for free college tuition for all. I am not sure if that is practical, considering a system like ours, but perhaps it is worth a discussion--free college for all?
Just read all these comments and I also saw the concern about HS and beyond. I also saw many comments how teenagers are dealing with the concerns of stress. Perhaps- we need to share with one another what are the different ways stress shows itself and how do we deal with it?
Something besides the pandemic is definitely school work and just having fun with your friends online now. Most children are stressed out since they have work to do even though they just wanna have fun and play with friends. Its a whole other world online and we can get away from this pandemic virtually by playing games. Hw and highschool brings another topic since now we have to better in school and there are so many different things from auditions, to SHSAT or just trying to find a high school that fits you in general.
I worry about the SHSAT and high school admissions.
I think that school is teenager's top priority. For example, grades and staying engaged during this pandemic. I know that online school hasn't been very nice on some students so adjusting and staying on track in school is the most important thing at the moment for us. Moreover, our overall year experience. A lot of us are upset that we can't hang out with our friends and have fun together like we used to. So staying in touch with people and trying to make the most out of this is also an important thing we have to keep on track of.
I think that the work is hard to keep track of for a lot of kids. I feel that work is hard to keep track of because there is really no line drawn between "school work" and "homework".
Besides the pandemic, I think school is very important to teenagers. The fact that online school and applying to new schools is a lot different than it was in the past, it just applies a constant feel of stress to certain students. Grades and test scores can also apply lots of pressure to certain students. Not being able to socialze with friends can be upsetting as well as not being able to see family. Not being able to go outside as much and play sports isn't great for us either. Us not living the life we used to is pretty odd in general.
I think most teenagers right now are worried about high school applications and what their future is going to look like.
The things that I think most high schoolers have to worry about are grades and their future because at the moment the future is very uncertain and our current generation of high schoolers most likely don't have a lot of experience with pandemics. But school still matters at the moment and most students likely haven't experienced this kind of experience and might have difficulty adjusting to this which might lead to lower grades which might lead to stress
Besides the pandemic, many teenagers are probably stressed about their academic life and the upcoming election. With the new edition of supreme court justice Amy, a lot of people fear their rights as minorities, women and members of the lgbtq. As a girl and also a minority, I don't know how to feel about being scared that my rights are going to be taken away. I didn't even have the chance to employ them yet. The future is really uncertain and people are getting antsy about what's going to happen. The shsat and high school admissions have proved to be quite difficult over the pandemic and new changes are constantly being placed. Overall, I think teenagers are very confused and worried about what's going to happen in the following years.
Personally, the basic womens and lgbtq+ rights matter a lot to me because of what is currently happening with the Supreme Court and who is on it. Mainly because what happens right now and the choices that are made, will affect my future as an adult and will affect my rights as well.
I am so impressed with how many of you are aware of the current issues that our nation is facing.
I worried about how the pandemic will affect the high school i go to
I’m a bit stressed out from remote learning because it is a new way of learning. Personally I’m doing fine understanding new materials with each subject, but I have two friends in Ohio and we were just talking the other day, they feel like they aren’t learning anything from online school. Some classmates that do blended learning in their school got coronavirus, and the school closed down for like A WEEK, they told me that the people that are doing blended learning in their school are going back. That’s NOT SAFE. That’s why I think nyc is doing a good job keeping students safe and having a good academic plan, but that doesn’t apply to students in all the other states and cities.
In my opinion, besides the pandemic teenagers should worry about their education because some people find it hard to adjust to remote learning and are struggling to learn. Furthermore, the SHSAT, auditions and high school admissions are an issue for people who are going to high school next year because there hasn't been many updates on whats going to happen to it.
Beside the pandemic, most of the teenager worried how they are doing in school. For example, how to manage the time. I think for some of the teenage they don’t how to spend their time wisely. As a result, some of them get stress out because they can’t hand in the works in time. Another issue is apply for high school because the DOE didn’t give much information about that and we also don’t know how will it be like this year due to the pandemic.
I’m worried about how long the pandemic will last. A vaccine seemed to keep being pushed back and cases are not falling down, instead they’re rising and so my only concern is how much longer to we have to do everything remotely and virtually.
I'm worried about going to a good high school.
I think the main issues for teenagers is the stress of the future. Parents yell at teens to get better grades and forced to pick career at a young age with lack of motivation. But being a teen is also the time to have fun, so the hard part of finding a balence
What I am worried about is high school problems. I think high school exams or interviews may be changed due to COVID-19.
I am worried about the specialized high school test and what high school I have to go to and how the high schools will turn out and what high school I will go to
