What has gone well is that I think it’s easier to communicate with your peers via google meet/zoom. What I don’t like is that everyone is always talking at once in the meets, and you can barely hear the teacher!
Well thankfully we are not apart of the Pandemic of 1918.
What went well was I went to every single class on time but something that didn’t went well was that I was confused on where we suppose to go and it’s kinda hard to communicate when you’re not face-to-face to the teacher.
I think that school has gone by really fast during remote learning and that school is more comfortable as its in our homes. downsides to online laerning are not seeing your friends, and to be quite frank, I miss the teachers bc I feel like they teach us more in school then online.
What went well in the first week of remote learning was that I got my work done at home way faster than I would get work done at school. This is probably because there is nothing else to do than do the online work from school. What didn't really go well was google classroom assignments because so many things were being posted there so it was kind of hard to find the work we were supposed to do for a specific day.
A lot of the time I'm switching between tabs and turning on notifications so something that I would say I struggle with is keeping track of everything.
Something that didn't go very well during the first week of remote learning, is that I can't keep track of the time. In school, after each class we will get dismissed, but when doing remote learning I sometimes forget that I need to move on to the next class.
Remote learning is very confusing. It always takes me like 20 minutes to figure out what we have to do. Then once I figure it out I don’t have enough time to finish. Overall, I’m not a big fan of remote learning
Everything is going well, I am starting to understand this process. I like how we can take our time on our assignments. However, I don't really like how the technology doesn't always work and we are expected to do some assignments, we don't know a lot about.
Pizza 🍕 arty!
I think the work went well. I was able to complete my assignments and do the work I was supposed to. However, I have problems understanding the directions and communications with teachers are delayed by time slots.
The first week was not too bad. It was not too complicated, but some things were a little confusing, but I think that it will take some time.
So far, everything had gone okay. I'm still figuring out the process, although it's much easier now than it was at the beginning. I often find myself getting restless. It's also hard to not really have anyone to talk to. I'm currently in Long Island, and I don't know anyone here.
What went well was i finished all my work for each class, and i'm never late to any of my class. What didn't go well is that sometimes I get confused of what to do, and i have to ask a lot of people before figuring it out.
what i think has gone well in this remote learning is being able to work at your own pace. you are not rushed to complete things. one thing that could be better is communication through google classroom, either than that its good.
I think that communication between the teacher and the students could be improved a bit as I know some students get kind of confused or lost. I also think that in the future, the teachers should come up with a more engaging curriculum with maybe some projects that could be done at home. What is going well is that I can get most of my work done pretty quickly and I have lot more free time.
What has gone well about remote learning is that I would usually finish my assignments early and I would have a lot of free time between periods, allowing me to start early on assignments for the next period. What has gone bad about remote learning is that sometimes the work that the teacher assigns is confusing.
What has gone well is that we are doing some earning but they all kind of feels like homewrok to me because we don't really learn much. It is different for us and it just doesn't feel right. I constantly end up writing stuff over on my notebook because its a better resource to use when you need it instead of going on the computer and opening multiple tabs. I tend to remember things when I physically write them . I think it feels like there is more work for me to do. After I finish something, another thing is needed to be done or I just have multiple things due on the same day.
I think the main issues were that sometimes the instructions were not clear and we end up confuse but overall it isn't so bad
what went well this week was that i wasn't late at all. what didn't went well was that i was confuse of what we do for work. but now i get it after using it for a week.
I think everything is going smoothly! I’m getting the hang of everything and getting use to my schedule. I honestly think I learn better online because I can always rewatch a video or re-read a passage till I get what it means. The amount of work that’s given is reasonable and the directions given are more clear than the first day of remote learning. It’s hard staying home, but I understand it’s for the best.
I think that all learning went well this week and we are off to a great start, my only concern is that sometimes the google meets are slow and it is hard to join since so many people are joining at the same time.
I think the first week has gone better then many of us could imagine. Most students in my class got to class on time got in the call at time. The issue i had was that sometimes there wasn't that clear instructions.
I really like how we have a lot of time to work on our assignments, but the only issue was that it's very unorganized. Sometimes you get caught in a mess and you're not sure which part you're supposed to do.
During the first week of remote learning, I'm glad that I'm doing the right assignments for every class because I thought I was going to be confused for most of the online classes. I'm also able to get more sleep (at LEAST 7 hours). However, sometimes I procrastinate on classwork, and other times my eyes start to hurt when I'm reading something on the computer, but I manage to finish the assignment by the end of the day.
So far, remote learning has gone pretty well. I've been getting a lot of work done and I've been completing it faster than I would have at school. Something I really like about remote learning is teachers post assignments for the day so if I finish a class early I can move on to the next one and start working. One drawback to remote learning is that you don't really get to see your friends and classmates. In addition, it isn't the teachers teaching you, its people on the internet that you don't know. Overall, I've enjoyed working remotely and learning how to schedule my time wisely. I hope you all are well,
Remote learning has been going great. I finish school nearly an hour early everyday! I'm on track with everything and I'm very excited with continuing online learning!
Remote learning is going okay. Sometimes the instructions aren't very clear so I don't know what to do, and there are too many things to keep track of. The good thing is that assignments have a longer due date so I don't have to rush to finish them all in one period.
Everything is going by fine, but my own complain is the internet. There are times where the internet spikes, and then the communication cuts out. This makes it very hard to follow directions and learn sometimes. Nothing really bad has occured because of that problem yet, but I'm pretty sure if it continues, something bad will occur. However, besides that, everything else is fine. The work that's assign isn't that hard, though some are just time consuming.
Remote learning is alright because I get to finish classes like an hour earlier. But, it is kind of confusing.
So far, remote learning has been fine but not great. Although the scheduled time slots are clear and we know what assignments we're doing, (usually) this type of learning doesn't really help you learn that much. Without face-to-face interactions, you don't get the same preparations for tests and new things. It's better than nothing, though.
Let’s go Mets!
Remote learning is going ok for me. I am able to work at my own pace but sometimes that can be stressful when assignments are due at a specific time. I am constantly switching between tabs and it can be quite confusing what is what and things can get unorganized very quickly.
The remote learning is a good way to learn right now. I get my work done most of the time but sometimes the work can be confusing and I don’t know what to do.
What went well was that the work was completed faster, there is some confusion with some classes but I'm starting to get the hang of it. The only thing I don't like is switching between tab after tab to complete work. Hopefully I'll get used to it soon.
remote learning is good for helping friend in case their stuck. It's also bad because it mean we get less sleep.
Honestly I've really been enjoying remote learning. School now lasts from nine to twelve/one, which is really nice, and I just find this way of learning more efficient. There are no distractions that might affect my productivity, and as soon as the period starts, we're into work.
One thing that went well for remote learning is that the work is much faster than how we work in school. One thing that is not so well is sometimes it is really hard for me to concentrate because I’m not use to remote learning yet.
So far remote learning has been pretty easy with all the classes because for most of the time the assignments have a lot of time to do it. Also I don't have to move around a lot. Whether it is switching classes or going somewhere.
Remote learning is alright. If you're ahead, you can move onto other classes. If you're behind, you have time to catch up on the assignments that you missed. The only issue for me is when I start procrastinating for a long time.
What went well was I was able to complete classwork, but sometimes I don't get to the next class in time because I lose track of time. I am glad we have remote learning though because we still get to learn, we get to wake up later, and classes are shorter.
What went well this week was the amount of work I got done; I feel like I work faster at home. What didn't go that well was I lost track of time sometimes and I had only a few minutes to prepare for my next class. Also, I feel like I'm spending too much time in front of my laptop screen
I don't like how sometimes google classroom and google meet don't really load if alot of people are on it at once. This caused me to be late to my advisory in the morning. Otherwise everything is pretty chill. School feels wayyy shorter now.
Positive things about remote learning is the fact that if you're done with an assignment, you can do another classes assignment or relax. With remote learning, I seem to have a lot more free time than usually. Not only that, but it's also much more comfortable to learn at home, as I get more time to sleep. Negative things however, is the fact that we can barely talk to others, and we are limited to go out and enjoy our time. It's also harder to communicate with others, especially teachers, since we can't do any face to face. However, that isn't really a big problem for me currently.
As of right now, I find remote learning difficult because of the way we communicate with teachers. There are multiple apps that we have to use for communication and I find it all to stay on top of all of them. However, one good thing about remote learning is that we are let out of "school" earlier.
What when well was that I keep to do the assignment based on my own pace. But some teacher post assignment at different time so half of the time, I'm just playing on my phone waiting for new work to be posted on google classroom.
What went well in remote learning was the fact that I was never late to classes and I could do my assignments on my own pace. What went not as well was that sometimes it was confusing what we were suppose to be doing and it would be difficult to get back on topic if you were lost.
Glad you are not late!
So far core classes aren't that bad, but electives are all over the place. The good thing is that we're able to work on our own pace, and not be distracted from by our classmates. But overall, things still feel like a mess.
So far remote learning isn’t so bad since I am able to learn at my own pace. However, it is somewhat difficult to communicate with teachers since some teachers prefer different ways to communicate and some teacher just don’t prefer to communicate at all. Moreover, if you were confused it’s harder to get back on track.
Remote learning hasn't gone too bad this week. However, the directions from some of the teachers were unclear, so I had to catch up on some work. Furthermore, my internet just stopped working once, which was a bit problematic. Other then that however, remote learning was ok for the first week.
We are working on it Darren!
So far the things that went well for remote learning is that, I get on time for all my classes and like, for some people, core classes aren't bad. What isn't going well are electives and communication with teachers are harder if you have questions.
Somethings that have went well are that I am at my classes when I need to be. But teachers have not been that clear about due dates and it is hard for me to catch up on all of my work. And the teachers keep assigning more work.
I tend to get distracted a lot during learning but otherwise everything is fine.
Other than minor confusions during remote learning, everything is going pretty okay. I'm getting the hang of it now and I feel like it's actually really efficient because everyone gets to work at their own pace. However, a drawback is it's really easy to procrastinate and get distracted.
I think some periods are too long, or teachers aren't giving enough work to fill the time and others are too short and I find myself not finishing all the work in time. In addition, being around my family all the time is starting to drive me crazy. I find it difficult to find a quiet space in the house.
I think the whole remote learning has gone well because i feel like i can learn at my own pace.
its ok i just dont like the fact that some teachers give so much more work online then in actual school
You are doing a great job!
The whole process of remote learning is getting really overwhelming for some subjects. Because every teacher gives out work at the same time and then we have such a short amount of time to do it.
You are doing a great job! Keep it up!
I kind of got the hang of remote learning. The real disadvantage is when the internet is slow or not working. This can greatly affect how classes go and work since all of this is online.
Something that's going well with the remote learning is that it's getting easier each day. Even though it still is a lot of work I think we all just need to get use to it. Something that has not gone so well is that the workload really piles up. For some classes I can't finish all the work that was given and I have to end up doing extra work during the break, lunch or after school.
I over slept on two of the days, what’s worst, I have sit up alarm for the whole week.
I am so proud of everyone for quickly adapting to this new way of learning for us as a school community. We hear you and acknowledge that there are some roadblocks with this new learning platform. I encourage you to keep being persistent everyday and keep posting your thoughts on this blog. A big Shout Out to Mr. G and Mr. P for creating this space for you and to all the MAT teachers for their tireless effort in getting our Remote Learning platform up and running in a very short time.
The first week of remote learning was pretty decent because the time is less and we get to learn more online.
The good things is that we only have around 2 hours of class Monday to Friday.
The bad thing is that we are not learning in ways that teachers used to teach. For example, lessons, projects, and group discussions.
My experience with remote learning has not been the best. The reason for this is because there is miscommunication when it comes to learning online which causes students to be confused with what they are supposed to do. However, remote learning still allows me to be able to communicate with friends for any confusion. I hope I will gradually get used to this routine and no longer have this problem.
Remote learning has been fine. The schedule works very well but the classes are not as engaging. There has been some confusion on what work has to be done and there is some miscommunication. What some of my friends do is text each other to clarify the situation.
So far this first week of remote learning felt much longer than it should. I am still trying to adjust to everything, and I'm sure many others are too. Remote learning is much harder than I thought. Online learning has its pros too. For example we can do things more freely and we can work at our own pace. But, if I was being honest I would rather go to school than online school.
I think remote learning is fine, but sometimes I cant find the assignments for that day and I waste a lot of time trying to find it. The good thing about remote learning is that I can work at my own pace and if I don't finish it I can do it after school ends.
What has been good about remote learning is that you can be comfortable and nobody is really there to restrict what you do. For instance, listening to music. It’s also easier get your work done faster/ move on when you want to (or slack off). It’s definitely easier to get distracted and communicating teachers is more difficult because sometimes teachers already answer questions in calls or in another assignment on google classroom and it’s up to students to find that or stay updated. Also, checking websites everyday is a bit overwhelming since you have to log in for every class and remember to do assignments. I almost forgot to do my Spanish work today before I checked her google classroom. There are also new websites we have to join that we aren’t used to and we are expected to get accustomed to it. Overall, remote learning is going fine though.
Overall I think remote learning has gone well so far. I am able to learn and I’m not bored anymore. However, the work all being done online is difficult to me. I find it harder to keep track of work that needs to be done. But for the most part I feel like I have held up for the first week.
Thank you everyone for posting your thoughts. Shoutout to Mr. Romero and the entire facility at our school for their hard work during this pandemic.
So far I think that remote learning is okay. I like how I can work in my own pace and I also like that I can work in the comfort of my own home. What I don't like about remote learning is that sometimes there is assignments that I don't know about, and that I sometimes forget to do some assignments. I also don't like how sometimes the directions of a assignment isn't really clear. On most assignments I try to figure out what to do for like 10 minutes then, I'll have to rush my work for that assignment in order to finish it. I personally think that in school learning is better than remote learning.
The good things are that work can be done more efficiently because it is online and the work is easily found in google classroom. The bad things are that the workload for some classes are overwhelming.
The online class is very hard for me. I have a hard time keeping track of materials and it is difficult for me to fully understand what I'm learning.
The good thing about remote learning is that I can work at my own pace and slowly do my work. I don’t like about remote learning is how you have to do all the attendance. Also, sometimes I would forget about the work I had to do and I finish it very late at night. In addition, I don’t like how some assignments for classes are due by 3:00, since if we don’t finish in that class period, we don’t have enough time because of the other classes. Overall, I wish we could go back to school.
I don't like remote learning as much as I like school. I often get distracted and lose track of my work. Sometimes it's hard for me to concentrate.
Remote learning is okay but the one annoying part is probably the fact that it seems like it's the weekend so I have the tendency to almost over sleep. Oh also I have so many tabs open at once it's insane.
I find that online school is ok, although I do miss some of the benefits of a real classroom. Some benefits are that we have more freedom now, like I can play music while working on a problem, however I do find myself missing seeing all my friends in person.
