I think this is a very serious topic and I will reserve my opinion on the subject since I do not want to influence anyone especially those who are unfamiliar to the topic--but I do expect all students to express their concerns, opinions or even questions on the subject after they read the article on the google stream.

My opinion on voting rights is that All people should be able to vote no matter what ethnicity or background. It should be Easier rand quick for people to vote because if not then people with jobs will be spending time on waiting in line that making money that supports them.

In my opinion, I think the government should really listen on what the citizens have to say and try to relieve the citizens by saying that they're going to solve these problems in the near future. We shouldn't have to create a giant protest to solve these issues that should've been solved ages ago. Everyone should be allowed to vote because everyone has their own opinion on who they want to vote for. Some people are too passionate about this and create rules to get what they want. Nobody wants that and the past shouldn't be repeated.

voting rights should be available to everyone in said country above 18. kids shouldn't be allowed to vote because while they might think they know most about politics, once they become an adult that is when they begin getting an actual economic aspect on the government. however, voting should be available to immigrants and not just citizens because if they live in America they should be able to express their concerns on their own government.

voting rights should be provided to everyone above the age of 18. race, ethnicity, and gender do not matter as long as the voter is 18+. children under 18 do not have much knowledge around politics, so they should not be able to vote until they are educated on the topic. as long as you live in America, you should be allowed to vote. voting is free, and the elected president is very important. voting can be ignored, but it is strongly advised that you vote if you can.

My opinion is that voting should be easy to do for anyone that can vote, there shouldn't be laws restricting people eligible to vote and it should be strongly encouraged to vote. They could also give sources on how voting works and all that to help people who don't really know what to do. But if someone can vote, then they should be registered automatically in the voter registration.

I think people should be allowed to vote regardless of what their racial background, immigration status, etc. is. The amount of people voting shouldn't be decreasing because they aren't able to easily access voting locations. Anyone that is eligible to vote, should have a right and easy access to voting. No one's right of voting should be denied just because a higher up power doesn't want them influencing the vote.

I believe that everyone should have a right to vote, taking away voting ballots and making people go further to vote is very wrong. This causes a wall for many of those who cannot further to vote.Taking away voting ballots from lower income neighborhoods and putting them in high income neighborhoods? Everyone in the country who is over 18 should have access to voting rights, no one should be not able to vote because of their race, religion, or income.

everyone over 18 should be able to vote and it should be easy. In this past election people were allowed to mail in their ballots, making it much easier and safer under covid circumstances to vote. We should make mail in ballots a permanent option, because many people have to work or take care of their kids, and they don't have time to wait in line for 6 hours, especially low income citizens who work two jobs, work long hours at minimum wage jobs, or can't afford a babysitter for their children. This is a form of discrimination against low income Americans. However, I do not think people under the age of 18 should be able to vote. While many teenagers do have firm opinions about political issues, many don't have the experience to make a decision, and not voting in the first year you are allowed to can build a habit of not voting, which would have a negative affect.

I think everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, regardless of the ethnicity or religion. People under 18 don't have real experiences of the political world yet, and therefore may not make the best decision. I believe the government should work towards a for everyone to vote quickly and efficiently, due to Covid. Furthermore, many people have their own plans and can't afford to spend 6 hours in line waiting to turn in a single vote out of thousands.

I believe that voting rights should be allowed to everyone, no matter the race/background or ethnicity. People shouldn't have trouble for expressing their opinions about their country. It is absurd that people didn't want certain races to vote and if they were to, give them questions that were almost impossible to answer. All in all, people should be able to vote with no difficulties.

I believe people above the age of 16 should be allowed to vote. This is because studies have shown that maturity is fully developed in 20 year olds. As a result, lowering the minimum age by 2 years, wouldn't affect voter turnout in a bad way. In fact, it would encourage these teenagers to keep voting in the future, and not become discouraged, as older people might.

Voting should be available to everyone no matter their race or color. Allowing everyone to vote can make America's democracy more balanced. For a long time black people were never allowed to vote but white men did. They fought for their rights when the government was against them until they got what they wanted. Even though that has changed now, many people who want to vote nowadays have to wait up to 6 hours to cast their ballot which isn't fair.

I believe that everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, regardless of their ethnicity or gender. Declining someone who isn't over the age of 18 their right to vote is declining their citizenship. It also shouldn't take over 6 hours to be able to voice their opinion. To require a fee or to prove your level of education to voice your opinion is outrageous. To isolate the ability to vote to one certain population would neglect the needs of the other citizens and the country itself. People should be able to vote quickly and efficiently regardless of who they are.

In my opinion, I think that everyone over the age of 18 should vote. Maybe the age could be messed around with, but just a little bit because most kids are not mature enough to make the decisions that could change the course of something important. In my opinion, voting rights are very important, and attempts to curb them should be met with stiff opposition, especially in the US. I don't see the point of trying to prevent voter fraud if there's barely any voter fraud in the first place, so the effects on the voting of oppressed minorities are just unacceptable. Also, since incumbents are using these laws to get themselves reelected, then that's just another reason to stop them.

I think that voting is very important, so that is why i think that those who are 18 and older should be allowed to vote. The reason for this is because some might not understand how important it is and vote for the other person as a "joke". Adults have a bigger grasp on politics due to having more experience in the world. This is why I think that those 18 and older should be allowed to vote.

I believe all people should have equal rights to vote, no matter of ethnic background, or race (*above age 18*). Some policymakers may think certain groups of people– colored and immigrants shouldn’t be privileged to vote. I think that’s incorrect of them because everyone’s opinion should be valid especially as immigrants and other groups have become more educated (in general) throughout time. It’s important for national leaders and citizens to protect voting rights for everyone so more people’s voices can be counted, as their part of this country too.

Not only do I believe that everyone should be able to vote but it is only right that its more efficient to vote, it should not take up to 6 hours to vote, for that a ridiculous amount of time. I would also like the say that even if one is illegal, they should still be able to vote for they have a future in the US just as citizens do, therefor they too should be able to vote. I think the voting age shall remain 18 for people under that age, may not fully understand politics, or be influenced on who to vote for and not have their own opinion and just going off of what their parents or family say.

I believe that race and background shouldn't be an obstacle whenever you vote. If you're 18+ and a citizen, you should have the right to vote whoever you want freely. If this happens, then more voting centers will open and lines will get shorter which makes it easier for everybody to vote. This also helps people not waste their time just waiting in a line for hours and lose money for jobs.

I think everyone eligible to vote should be allowed to vote, no matter their background, looks, or social class. It is their/ our basic right as Americans to have a voice in our government, even if it's just casting one vote. The policies politicians are coming up with to hinder this right is simply wrong. It is discrimination against certain groups and that is what the makers of our Constitution and so many people throughout our history worked so hard to get rid of. So why are people trying to bring it back now?! These policies should not be something minority groups have to worry about when exerting their basic rights.

My opinion on voting rights is that everybody, who is 18 or older and a U.S citizen, should be able to vote in a convenient, efficient, and non-discriminatory way. To enforce this, I support some states' efforts to automatically register voters. However, there are more actions that need to be taken to realize this ideal. Instead of proposed bills that bring back parts of the Voting Rights act, I firmly believe that the whole act should be put into effect again. The failed Reconstruction period and recent racial tension in America has shown that preclearance is still needed to fight deep-rooted racism and bigotry in some states. In addition, there needs to be more voting spots, which increases voter turnout. Many people don't have the time to wait in a line and travel to voting spots when they're preoccupied with taking care of their family, their job, etc.

If you can drive a car at 16 then seems reasonable to be able to vote at 18. The voting system should also be more organized so that people won’t have to waste their time waiting in line. If possible maybe they can set up online websites for people to vote so it won’t take up time. Although that seems like too much work. Since the only 2 requirements to vote is 18 and older and being a US citizen, it’s honestly so dumb that people will try and discourage a certain race or gender to not vote and be racially motivated.

I think that everyone should be able to vote, since it represents people in regards to their decision. Not being able to vote is like taking away their say in the world, and that’s just wrong.

Every citizens of the United State above 18 should have the right to vote. Their race, ethnicity or beliefs shouldn’t make it harder for them to vote. And 18 is a good age, they understand their rights and have more information about politics than, when they were 16.

I believe that all US citizens should be allowed to vote regardless of their ethnicity and gender. Everyone should be able to express their opinion. No one should be excluded and stand in line for hours just to cast a ballot. People shouldn't have trouble for expressing their opinions about their country. So people should be able to vote with no difficulties

I think all people should get to vote because is it really fair? To take away somebody saying or who would like to vote that's just mess up they should do it when their 16 because they already understand most the things about voting.

I believe anyone above the age of 18 should be able to vote. I don't think politics matter to anyone below the age of 18 since younger people don't care much about politics. Something I do believe is everyone should have a voice in voting no matter the ethnicity or gender. The only other requirement I'd say is you must be a resident in the United States in order to vote.

I think everyone could vote when they are 18 years or older because everyone is that age to 18 years and older they are young or a old adult and they have the right to vote for who ever they want to vote for. the people that live somewhere else that is not at U.S and when they get the legal pass to live here or something else they should have the right to vote. So that's why everybody should have the right to vote after they get there legal rights.

My opinion on voting right is that everyone should the right to vote and shouldn't have to wait in long line for hours to just to vote. Also, some people don't have the time to wait in line all day they need to work and do other things.

I think everyone should be allowed to vote if they are old enough. People shouldn't have to wait hours on line to vote and people should be allowed to leave work to vote and not got in trouble. Also its not fair that some black people have a hard time voting. They should have the law to protect them to make sure they can vote.

I think everybody should vote because it is important to not only the country’s future but also for what the citizens wish for the country’s future to be. Certain people not being able to vote because of certain differences or hate between people is not a good reason to stop people from voting.

i feel that voting rights should be available to everyone in the said country above the age of 18, and voting rights should not be given to children because if they had voting rights, they could vote for president just to make them make stupid decisions and ruin society.

The government cannot and should not infringe on the voting rights of its citizens. All people over the age of 18, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation should be able to vote. Regarding the age minimum of 18, that has it’s roots in the Vietnam War. Young men, 18 years old, were being drafted to fight in the war. However, they could not vote, and essentially had no say in whether the government could send them to their deaths or not. If you are old enough to fight, you should be old enough to vote. But what about younger ages? Why shouldn’t they vote aswell? The brain needs ample time to develop and mature, and the brain of a 10 year old isn’t quite there yet. Many kids don’t even follow the news, and so would be completely unaware of what they were voting for. Even more kids could be tricked, or even bribed. The specific age 18 was chosen because scientists believe that is when the brain has developed enough for this task. This is why 18 is considered the year you become an adult, because that is when you can both vote and fight in a war. I can then safely say; with no ifs, ands, or buts; that any adult should be able to vote regardless of race, culture, religion, gender, or sexual orientation.

i think everyone over the age of 18 should be able to vote, as over the age of 18 is technically an adult.
