I think that it is more or less morally unfair. both sides have a different opinion and both sides make a valid point. The conditions that the refugees are living in, in their home country and now in the US, is just terrible. They come to seek refuge, only to face conditions that are maybe even worse. What the US should do is that they should make a deal with other countries, (if they haven't already), so that each country receives a certain amount of refugees. and also, for those allowed to come into the states, to immediately find jobs that ultimately help the US.

I think that the 12,000 Haitian migrants living under a bridge is a dangerous place and I think that the US government should help the Haitian migrant. They are having a difficult time right now living and trying to find food and a shelter for 12,000 people. They are now living in a dreadful place and trying to get out of the unstable country they are in. For example, there isn't any security and the assassination of the president from their country.

I think that the US government should try to help the Haitians because they are struggling to get food and survive. In addition, in Haiti, the government is unstable and not safe to live in, due to the assassination to the Haitian president. If the US doesn't want all of the refugees, they could try to make a deal with other countries to help and support the Haitians, or at least take some Haitian Immigrants.

The government should help the Haitian because families are trying to give a better life for their children. The parents sacrifice so much for their kids such as going without food for a days because their kids need it more. The problem is that the guards on the border will not let them in even if they can help fight for the country.

I believe that the U.S Government should request more funding for Haiti for the Earthquake relief and other struggles in the unstable country such as rebuilding places, installing hand washing stations, etc. Since the renovation for Haiti will take long, the U.S. for now should either request funding for large buildings to support the Haitians with resources or move the Haitians to some other safe haven.

I think that the conditions the Haitians are living in right now are really bad, there are many families that need food and are willing to give it to their children instead of themselves. The U.S government should try to provide at least some food and shelter to the Haitians, and then make arrangements for the Haitians to be moved to a more stable shelter where they can recover and make a new life for themselves.

I just feel really bad for the migrants. 12,000 people are just living under a bridge, waiting for the US government to make a move. The Department of Homeland Security's massive bureaucracy is not going to make this descision any faster. I think the US government shouldn't just turn people away, it should at least let people have some kind of chance of getting in. Also, sometimes going to border checkpoints just isn't possible for tired, hungry migrants. As for the migrants right now, they should be immediately cared for, and transported to the nearest border checkpoint, where they would go through the same process as any migrant coming into the nation, while also getting a little advantage, considering the massive earthquake that just happened in Haiti.

The conditions that the 12,000 Haitian people living under the bridge is humanly incorrect and unjust. They should be provided care and necessary necessities to keep them alive and well. The U.S government should provide safe environments for the Haitian people because the majority of them had escaped from dire conditions so it is highly possible they could be in need of care. The U.S should take better care of its immigrants because the Haitian people risked their lives and their families lives for a better future. If they don't have the possibility for a life then what did they risk their lives for?

I think the government should help the migrants, all they want is a better life, its not very hard to help them, give them the stuff that they need, water, clothing, shelter, and food. I don't see how letting them in can cause a problem, the more people in the US the more money its a win win situation, its plain ignorance for the government to be letting them live in such terrible ways. Especially that they came thinking that America would be better than their homeland yet they come and literally live under a bridge not only is this stupid but it makes America look bad you see, you wont more people to come to America make it more wealthier or something but people seeing how the government treats these people who are in desperate need of help makes the US look terrible, keeping them under that bridge with nothing to satisfy there needs is inhumane.

I think it is always difficult for governments to accept and organize vast immigrations, so we need to look at this with a grain of salt. However, I do think the U.S. government needed to treat the situation differently. The immigrants needed subsidized housing and cheap jobs to get them started. The country's economy isn't growing close to as fast as others like China, so we need to take advantage of a cheap workforce. It would help both us and the immigrants.

It makes me sad hearing the stories of people who come to the US for a chance at a better life. The Haitian migrants shouldn’t have to live under a bridge. It’s not safe for them there and it’s not clean. I also don’t agree with sending the Haitian migrants back because they travelled so far to get here. I think that the Haitian migrants should be placed in temporary shelters with food, water, and sanitation. There, they can start the asylum process.

I believe the US should first get funding because even if they want to do anything to help, they need the money for it or else nothing will really happen. It's clear that the migrants won't be let into the States easily because of the border guards and whatnot, but it would be cruel to just kick all of them out because with the current situation they're in, their president recently being assassinated and having experienced an earthquake followed by torrential rain fall, it would be almost impossible to get all the migrants to go back quietly. Their government is unstable and they probably wouldn't even have a proper place to live if they go back. It's the reason they risked their lives to escape to the States in the first place. Therefore, I think the US should do what they can to offer temporary food and shelter for the migrants (because they are technically the victims in this whole situation) until things get worked out, or they come up with a better plan. And all that circles back to the funding.

I think that the US did some things wrong and some this right. Clearly the Haitians need help, and trying to send them back to Haiti is wrong. However, the US giving the migrants food and money and testing them for COVID-19 was good. They should try to open refugee camps where they rapid test all migrants before they can come in. This way COVID won't spread, and if someone tests positive they can't come into the camp. They should prioritize helping families with children. The US should also try to help Haiti and the Haitian government so that they don't have to take care of the refugees long.

The 12,000 Haitians living under the bridge should receive food, and warmth from the US. Some of the kids might not be able to take care of themselves, and the parents might have to go out to collect resources, so the children would have no one caring for them. At the very best the US can let them into the boarder, and originally all the haitians wanted to do was start a safe and happy life in america, not to cause harm to people.

Both sides are neither in the wrong nor in the right. U.S has it's reasons to why they can't have illegal immigrants coming to the US. However, due to the horrible conditions Haiti, the Haitians have a reason to escape to someplace better. Instead of dealing with this situation in a negative way, I think the U.S should take care of the Haitians and lend them resources. Their homeland has been in many dangerous events and they are really scared to go back. If the US let the people in, then that can fill up the vacant jobs that the stores and businesses are having due to the pandemic. Therefore the Haitian people can get paid and the US wouldn't have a problem with jobs.

In addition, there are so many children who have no choice but go with their parents and the parents must have so much pressure on them for letting them get into this situation.

I think what's happening with the Haitian migrants that are living under the bridge in the Mexican/Texas border is awful and the U.S government should really do something about it. It can be very unsanitary because there are around 12,000 people living in the same area and also the fact that there are not enough bathrooms for everyone. In addition, when the weather gets colder, they might get sick and there's a high chance of them spreading it to others because they live in close proximity to each other. The U.S government should provide them with resources like food and water so that families are able to feed their children. Also, they should provide them with clothing and all the important essentials everyone needs to have in order to survive. They've come all the way from South America and just doing nothing about them living under a bridge is just inhumane, especially because they've come here to have a better life.

I think it unhealthy for all of them to be living under their because they are all not getting clean properly and germs are most likely get passed around. Also if one of them get Covid all of them could also get it. I think the us government should find a place for them to live here because where they used live isn't good living situation.

I think the US should help the Haitian Migrants, but it is understandable why the US would deport them, as both sides have valid arguments.

12,000 people living under a bridge?! That's very cruel and I think they should be treated like people and not like animals

I think the US government should step up to help them, just like their motherland has experienced two earthquakes, they need to start again.

I think the government should help them because they just want a better life and they need help. Alot of them got killed just to come here. I saw on the news some of the government officers were hitting them and hurting them and I don't think any immigrants should be hurt. I think we should help them with food and water and a place to live.
